I haven't been to this forum in about 3 months or so. I'm so glad to see this here.

I'm pretty much a hard core Libertarian.

I think, like most Libertarians, I'm more of a minarchist. I'm not a pot head and personally think those who are, are idiots but they have every right in the world to be idiots if they wish. As for the moron label, I'm not entirely sure I care what those sheople in either the democan or republicrat parties think since most of the time, I feel the same about them. I've already been flamed in this forum more times than I'd like to count.

I don't know, I'm feeling like this was uncalled for. I said, that I feel folks have every right in the world to smoke what ever they want when they want and however much they want. Why do you really care whether I think it's stupid or not? Go right ahead do what you want. As long as I don't have to pay for it, I don't care. Like you, I feel that what you do in your bedroom is your business. We're on the same side here.

There is a difference between a pot head and a social smoker. You even implied the same yourself when you said you used to be a stoner in high school basically saying that the way in which you smoked then is different than how you smoke now. Then you mentioned the stereotypical pothead with the slow speech, blah, blah blah. There is a difference and I realize that. Do you think that you would be able to do all the things you've done if you were buzzed 24/7? Maybe you are one of the few who could but there are probably hundreds of others who can't function in that state.

I also think people who drink in excess are idiots, again they have the right to do as they wish in the privacy of their own home. And as long as I don't have to pay for the treatment of detox or cirrhosis, I could care less what they do to themselves. I do think that when they take it out of their home and onto the road, they should be thrown somewhere and the key thrown away forever because at that point, they are bringing it into my backyard. And while I think excessive drinkers are morons mainly for letting themselves get into that shape in the first place, that doesn't mean that I don't have a social drink on occasion. It's all about responsibility.

I'll tell you this too. If I owned a business and had the choice of hiring two people whose credentials were identical and one was a weekend pot smoker and the other a weekend drinker, I'd choose the pot smoker because that person would most likely be able to come into work on Monday morning and work whereas the weekend drinker may very well be hung over and definitely in no shape to work on Monday.

I'm fully in support of reforming the Libertarian Party to a less radical, less idealistic party.

You can have all the principles you want, but the times they are a-changin and it's going to take more than the words of Thomas Jefferson to get Libertarian candidates elected.

Will the party have to compromise on some issues? Sure. But unless more moderate Libertarians come from the party, no one is going to get elected and so no change will come (not "Obama change"; change in your pocket from tax cuts.)
