Since this is CF's house and not mine, I'm trying to figure out my religious icon. It doesn't necessarily meet the criteria of CF. Further, there are a few posters that seem to constantly telling me that I am not Christian (because I am gay).
I know that I am. That's not the issue.
The issue is, what religious icon should I use, if it is in conflict with CF's definition? Am I allowed in Christian only areas, since I have some issues about gifts of the Spirit, etc.?
What is the ethical thing to do?
I know my heart, and God does, too. However, I am a guest, and for all I care, one can call me a Devil Worshiper, but hopefully Christ in my heart by how I live.
This is more of an issue of CF's rules vs. my beliefs, and this being CF's house, I want to go by their rules.
Thanks. This may be something that other people (Universalists, etc) may be struggling with as well.

Matthew 10:16
See, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as cunning as serpents and as innocent as doves.
17 “But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; 18 and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 “But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. 20 “For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. 21 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22 “You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.
It's so easy for heterosexual Christians to judge people that don't conform to their idea of a 'Good' Christian. The Bible makes it quite clear that the first and highest commandment of all is that of love. We are supposed to show genuine love and understanding to others. And sin, well, all of us are quite equal in sin. So, I'd say that all Christians that know God would welcome you here. Standard practice for all Christians would be to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. If you have done that, then you are a Christian. Simple. The Bible clearly says that Jesus is the one who finishes all in all. So, He'll sort all of us out anyway.
I just had a look at the rules. It doesn't seem to exclude homosexuals, just discussions that may seem to promote sin in general. I mean, Jesus said, "Let the one who is without sin cast the first stone."

Reason: To add to my message - regarding the rules...
CF supports the following as a statement of faith:
We worship one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Isaiah 44:6-8; Exodus 3:15). God is three divine persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who share one essence--the Trinity (John 6:27; John 1:1, 14; Romans 8:9; Hebrews 1:2-3).
Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ, the incarnate second person of the Holy Trinity, fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14), by the Power of the Holy Spirit was born of a Virgin (Luke 1:35) and existed before all time begotten of God the Father (John 1:2; John 1:18). He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) and is seated at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19). Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah (John 1:49; Matthew 16:16). His coming was foretold by the prophets of the Old Testament (Acts 3:18-23). He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead (Acts 10:42) and His Kingdom will have no end (2 Peter 1:11).
When it comes to the Congregational areas I'm not up to date with their FSG's (Forum Specific Guidelines) so the best thing you can do is to read them for each forum.
But as long as you have a Christian Faith icon you can post in the Christian Only areas. (that I know because I'm a Supervisor in one of them )
