How Do you forgive someone who has tried to hurt you? How do you find the strength inside yourself to forgive them?
When someone hurts you it is not easy to turn the other cheek. I myself like to think an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is the way to handle situations like this in life.
My question is, if someone put your life or the life of your family at risk and threatened them how would you handle that?
If that person was bigger faster and stronger than you, what would you do?
If you tried to defend yourself and your family against this person only to add insult to injury by loosing how would you react to that?
If you turned to the law but they couldn't help you, what would you do?
Whats the best thing to do in a situation like this?
Forgive? Or Get Even?
That is the dilemma, either you take the law into your own hands or you search for the strength to trust that God will handle it. When God seems not to be there, it can be hard and frustrating. How do you find comfort when a clear answer isnt easily seen?
The problem with getting even is that it runs the risk of escalating an already bad situation to a much worse situation. It can start a nasty cycle of hurt that can reach dangerous levels and put others and yourself at continued or increased risk.
By forgiving, others around you may perceive you as being weak or afraid, even though it clearly take a stronger and braver individual to do so.
My question is what do you do in a situation like this? How do you control your natural instinct for revenge on that person.
How do you forgive and would forgiveness even be a smart idea?
I believe it is only possible to forgive and love with Gods supernatural help..
We cannot humanly reach that place.. or if we can.. wow.. that is amazing..
I see you are from Palestine..
So you might possibly be in a situation there where there is far greater intense situations then I could understand humanly..
But in my case.. I have lived in a relationship that most women would have bailed out.. in fact I wanted too many times.. Was not feared for my life.. but it has been hard and impossible many times..
Only GOD got me through.. HE gave me love when there was not any at all..
He helped me love, forgive and trust in HIM.. HE showed me how to find peace within and HIS presence..
I think the greater the trouble.. the more wonderful HIS presence will be there.. It has taken much prayer.. tears and frustrations.. but HE is there always.. HE listens to me.. and cares for me.. and HE is there for you also.. HIS words in the bible can be trusted 100% and I promise that if you do not know what to do.. Spending time in prayer with GOD will help you to know what to do.. spending time in HIS WORD meditating.. will guide YOU.. HE has a gift for us.. who will accept and believe on HIM.. the HOLY SPIRIT.. who comes to live with us and guide and comfort us.. HE protects us too and will guide us out of danger.. and protect us from danger.. there were times I was in danger.. but GOD protected me... In near accidents while in the car.. in my home when my husband was so angry I might have been in physical danger at the time.. GOD literally put a shield around me and made things happen that protected us from these things..
Giving our lives to HIM takes away the burden of worry.. because says.. do not be anxious.. come to me and I will give you rest.. my burden is light..
By blessings the other person.. speaking well of them.. by not focusing on the evil.. by doing good.. and in all ways acting as JESUS would.. gives us supernatural help to either endure or receive a way out..
Oh yes forgiveness is important.. It opens the door for healing.. and for GOD to come in and help us through whatever it is that has been done to us.. GOD is greater then any evil.. and love conquerors all..
