I am curious as to why you listed Rick Warren as one you avoid.
Thank you in advance for you responses.

He is a prosperity preacher, he is a name it claim it blab it grab it preacher, simply said he is an ear tickler to those who love their sin, he is more interested in numbers than preaching the whole gospel, for if he preached the whole gospel he would lose many people in his flock.
I read that prayer that Warren had on his video, I surely hope he didn't mean what he said because yes, it's more of this feminine Jesus meek and mild nonsense floating around today. I don't know about you folks but I get tired of the love mantra with no evidence of it.
I can recommend a book which deals with a lot of aspects, regarding the so-called "new gospels", the theories of quazi-religious fictionist Brown, as well as the trustworthiness of the Bible. Although this book is yet only published in Norwegian, some people here of Scandinavian nationality or origin, may have good use of it.
Skarsaune, Oskar: The Unknown Jesus - New Sources to Who Jesus Really was? : The Da Vinci-code, the Grail-stories, the Gospel of Thomas, the Q-source. Oslo: Avenir Publications. 2005. 246 p. ISBN: 9788249400560

Description on the back:
"No one should claim that it's boring to search through old documents after reading this book! It's exciting to follow the author through the different layers of source material in dialogue with modern books which deal with the topic. Many will find this book to be equally entertaining as the Da Vinci-code - and additionally, you can get wise from this one. The author is a professor of church history and first hand knower of the historical sources. He writes about the Da Vinci-code, the Grailstories, the Gospel of John and the Q-source, in an exciting and convincing way." (my translations)

"The case for Christ".
it was a good book, put in simpler words. There were some thigns that were uncertain, or too flimsy, but overall a good book. by Lee Strobel.
And I saw on the 2nd or 3rd post, I wanted to read the essay about how Faith and evidence are not contrasting, but I get a HTTP 404 error.
contenderministries.org is a great website for apologetics, it's one of my favorite, though it doesn't necessarily have vast reserves of info, it does have basic understanding of apologetics against other religions. That and carm.org are great places for apologetics.
