Because Hamas knew Israeli wouldn't bomb U.N. building. If you were at so-called war, wouldn't you do the same?
No I would not, because I am not a coward. As your first sentence obviously explains - that is what they are: COWARDS. I would not put the lives of women and children in danger knowing that targets housing Hamas militants would be bombed. Get your butt away from the women and kids and either hide somehwere else or fight like a man!

The leaders of Hamas call for the killing of Jews and the destruction of Israel. They are branded a terrorist organisation by most of the nations of the world.
Even if a peaceful gesture is made by Hamas, however you want to define THAT coming from them, the couple of vigilantes on the border fire rockets into Israel. Hamas has no control over the couple of guys who fly off the handle despite what the leadership decides. This was the same problem Arafat had.
So where do you get and how do you define ''effort Hamas made to keep... peace''? It is a contradiction in terms.
Actually, there are only a handful of the roughly 192 nations that brand Hamas a terrist org. Are you not aware ther is a political wing and a militant wing of Hamas......
So you believe that a government can stop every citizen from breaking the law.........wonder what all those prisons are for!
And by the way, it was Israel that broke the ceasefire on Nov. 4,2008.
One last factoid........Hamas is willing to live in peace with Israel within the 1967 borders, which is fairly generous of them.

The same is EXACTLY true for Israel in this conflict. When Hamas BREAKS A CEASEFIRE and kills Israeli civillians, do you expect Israel to sit back and say ''Oh well, you know, that's Hamas for ya!''?
After months of being patient and exercising restraint, while repeatedly being slapped in the face, any nation can only take as much.
I do not bear immediate knowledge of the insident you are refering to - IDF entering gaza, but one thing I do know: Israeli soldiers have NEVER crossed the border into Gaza and killed Hamas militants just because they were bored. There was ALWAYS a good reason given by Hamas, a.k.a. provocation.
That is what broke the ceasefire though!

Genocide is genocide. It saddens me when the very people who suffered genocide are the one perpetrating one right now.
1,300 people killed of which over 75% were women and children.
4,000 wounded; with little chance of proper medical care due to the Israeli blockade.
All because of oversized firework rockets that have killed a total of 8 people.
Using an army to attack and kill civilians is hardly a brave act.
The IDF has acted in a cowardly way and has committed genocide. I have heard people say things like "maybe Hitler was right"! I do not condone such words but the truth of the matter is that Israel is one more nation in the list of countries that have perpetrated crimes against humanity!

Israel broke the ceasefire last november when the IDF entered gaza and killed 6 hamas members.
And when hamas fights back (I don't condone killing civilians by either side) They're expected to writhe on the ground shouting "Oh please don beat me massa, don beat thes tiahd ol' bahdy, massa!"
Hamas broke the cease fire on June 24 last year by allowing Islamic Jihad to fire rockets at Israel from Gaza 6 days after the implemation of that cease fire.
