Since resigning I miss everyone on staff and while on staff I missed conversing freely with the members.
Is there a happy medium?

Hi Joab,
It is hard to balance our commitment to moderating and to spend a lot of time in threads. But I try.
I do not get around much, as I'm sure you have noticed, since I tend to hang around with those who share at least some similar theology to my self. So for me, It's my home Forum, OBOB, TAW, and from time to time STR and Oriental Orthodox. Most other places I just don't fit in.
Now, if we were "Ominpresent" like our Lord, It would be easy!.

Omnipresence, that must be what I am after.
I know what you mean. Its hard. And it feels like after a while, emotionally that one is getting torn from their moorings if not sharing with those who are like minded.
The problem I find is there is so much narcissism among even the like minded its hardly any better but one forgets that by not having the time or feeling comfortable doing that sharing while staff. It all goes to reaffirm my belief that those who serve others rather than self are the best Christians.
It sure is good to see you in threads now and then Mark. In fact, its your participation that got me thinking about this in the first place but only because we were friends first. Know what I mean? Seems different if one doesn't really care to be friends. Then there is all those presumptive and very dynamic reasons to not care to be ones friend.
I feel like I am rambling. .

Certainly there are some, but all are God's children (some more infantile than others). You are so right, if we follow Christ's example a Christian has no choice but to serve everyone, the good the bad, and the indifferent.

I actually have very few "friends" but many acquaintances. My true friends share a devout faith in Christ, (although when I lived in Toronto, there were a couple of devout Jews, one was a Rabi, who I counted among my friends) are honest about what they think, and let me know about it. Even when there is strong disagreement, there is no condemnation. You, Joab, posses these traits.
I feel like I am rambling. .
Conversations often do! So does the odd sermon from time to time; but there is usually still something that can be taken from it!
Be well and God bless! I'm sure that I'll be seeing you in the near future in here somewhere.
That's always been a problem. If we had more mods it would be better because the workload would be spread out. But we've never been able to hit that point.
Just stopping by to say hi.

If pregnancy presents a challenge, do we as a society rise to the challenge by dispensing with the child? And when a pregnancy comes at a difficult time, what is the worthier response? Do we surround mother and child with protection and love, or do we hold out to her the cold comfort of a trip to an abortionist? Where is our true character as a nation to be seen - let's ask ourselves this question: Where is our true character to be seen, in an adoptive home, or in an abortion clinic? Who are we? Who are we America? That question deserves an answer. Bob Casey Sr.
