I am new here and I'm hoping someone can help me out. My wife is a cancer survivor and has a great gift of mercy and encouragement from the Lord. She wants to use those gifts to reach those in our church that have been affected. (Growing Weekly it seems) Does anyone have any simple ideas of how she can use her gifts to reach those in need of a kind word. She currently sends tons of postcards but she wants to do more.
Thanks ahead of time! |

I believe as we pray that your wife will know amazing ways to bless these people and not only lift their spirits but help them to heal and know how much the LORD loves them and is with them.. The LORD be praised..

Sending word around to the local churches that she might want to start a support group would be a great place to start. Any story of survivors is wonderfully uplifting to me. My family has had quite a few deaths to blood related cancers (on both sides), so obviously I am a good bit phobic about the whole issue and I often worry particularly since I have a fair # of aches and pains. Hearing about survivors gives me comfort and eases some of my fears about this issue. Having a support group for such fears to encourage and uplift and turn my mind from dwelling on those fears while I hurt is a GREAT service. wish I had someone in my area willing to start such an encouraging group. But even if she doesn't want to do something directly with people that way, she could start a group like that on here, right? Survivors talking about their successes and phobic people like me hearing about those successes and their coping mechanisms would be wonderfully useful to all visitors to this site. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
