I was walking past our bookshelves on the way to bed last night, noticed a set of bokks, and had a 'V8' momemnt. Slapped my forehead and thought, "How could I have forgotten to mention the Hornblower series?!" Written by CS Forester.

Maasive10 is on a distinguished road
I enjoy Ted Dekker - but he is not for all

I also like Francine Rivers - her "Mark of the Lion" series being my favourite.

I am usually not a Frank Peretti fan - but a few of his first books "Piercing the Darkness" and "This Present Darkness" are great

I also love C.S. Lewis and even though they are for teens - I like the Narnia Series.

Jack Cavanaugh is also a great Historical fiction writer - his "Songs in the Night" series is great!

I heard someone interviewed the other day and he mentioned how much in this book is coming true - made me think I need to re-read it as it's been forever. Anyhow. . . .

Show me a man who trusts his own righteousness, obedience, devotion, feelings, or anything else of his own, and I will show you a man to whom the blood and righteousness of Christ is worthless. Don Fortner

It often surprises people to learn that God is not always pleased when people worship him. We might be inclined to think that God should be thankful for any attention we give him out of our busy schedules. But worship is not about God's thanking us; it is about our thanking him. And God is not pleased with just anything we choose to do in his presence. The mighty Lord of heaven and earth demands that our worship-indeed, all of life-be governed by his word.
John M. Frame

The Bible will give Christ to you in an intimacy so close that he would be less visible to you if he stood before your eyes.

Mine too. My wife and I can really tear through some books.

The OP seemed pretty busy though. She said she likes to occasionally take a break... I thought this list would be enough for awhile.
