I just happened to stumble in here and saw some people showing off their vettes, so I thought I'd join the fun
It's not quite the eye candy the older ones provide (I'd LOVE to have a '73 Stingray!), but it's still an amazing car. It's a 1996 Coupe, but it has lots of upgrades. A new, LT4 5.7L engine that was originally placed in the 1996 Grand Sports, a Borla dual exhuast which adds power and gives the car a low, rumbling sound, and somebody even put a towing hitch on it All together, it has about 350 to 360 horsepower.
And these pics are of course right after a fresh wax!

On Thanksgiving I took my 65 on a 6 hour ride to visit my parents. It ran perfect the whole way. I don't know what it is about driving these cars but I just leave the rest of the world at my doorstep for awhile and enjoy the drive.
I figure you probably feel the same way, also, with the engine upgrades, are you like me where you look forward to merginging into traffic. It's like the one place I can put the pedal down and feel the acceleration. Just the whole off ramp is fun just hanging onto a long ongoing turn.
What's the fascination about 73 vettes? Something in your past perhaps?
So fun to take on those windy mountain roads too, she just hugs the road right around those hairpin turns!
'73, I just like them. A nice, painted, fixed up '73 is such a beautiful car. I just turned 19 in November, so it's nothing from my past.
