Where do I fit in? It seems that I have an unusual set of beliefs. Can someone tell me where or if I fit in?
1st the normal stuff
I do believe that Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected.
I believe that God loves us very much and shows us so every day.
I believe that Christianity describes a better way to live.
Faith does not require proof in the technical sense, only proof in a spiritual sense.
ok, maybe that's all the normal stuff
I believe that the Bible is not a science book. For example, the story of creation in Genesis is a metaphor with deeper meaning that just how the universe was put together.
I believe in free will. God would not create humans with the minds we have just so that we could be his puppets.
I don't believe in demons.
I believe that Revelations was not written about today's future. It was written to ease the worries of a persecuted people in Roman times.
I see no conflict between Christianity and science. God gave us our minds and science is a creation of those minds, how can that creation conflict with our faith?
There's probably more, but I'm outta gas for now. I look forward to conversing with you and I'd love to hear all your comments regarding my beliefs.
There are plenty of folks like you in this site. The purpose of the Theology forums is to bring Christians together so that we learn and teach each other. This site can be intimidating to the newcomer because of its sheer size and diversity. Don't fret. Before you know it you'll find plenty to do here.
All we ask is that you post within the rules which include CF Statement Of Faith. You can read the rules by following this link.
Enjoy your stay and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to pm me or any member of staff.
Blessings!!!!!

Jesus:
The Scripture cannot be broken.
(John 10:35)
Paul:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
(2 Timothy 3:16)
Peter:
For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit
(2 Peter 1:21)
The things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven
(1 Peter 1:12)
I belive that true faith must be founded on a fully inspired Bible. However, im not going to pick holes, if your strong in what you belive try the The Church of Christ, Scientist. can ask why you belive what you do though?

Hi - and welcome.
Well, you can always go to an Anglican church - we accept anybody.
Is it important that you mould you belief to the 'tick a box pro forma religious experience'? You sound pretty normal to me. Why not prowl the boards - particularly the Theology threads - you soon find other like mined souls.
