NNNNnnnnOOOooooooo!!!! Don't do it. Can ya tell I'm still holding out?
Hi Maid Marie, Welcome to WP!
Don't panic for I have not totally given in my other windows PCs still run XP. But I must admit that the Vista Ultimate 64-bit is a lot more stable than most of the other Vista variants especially the 32-bit versions.
Also I have seen Windows 7 pre-betas and I can say that they it be considerably more stable than Vista and probably look exactly the same.

Friday night i went to my bunco club's christmas bunco and we exchanged ornaments. i got penguins on ice skates, a boy and girl.
Sat night i went to the extended family holiday party on my dad's side of the family. The house was decorated so beautifully it belonged in a magazine. i dont know where some people find the time. Then again its harder for me because my kids are so young. My cousin's kids are all grown up so she isn't chasing little ones around all day like me. Hopefully years from now i can decorate more than just a tree and a shelf..lol

Zoness - I've had vista for a while now, and other than the annoying popup asking for "allow" all the time, I've not had any problems with it. In fact, what I had heard and feared didn't come true. I especially like that I can load old (and I do mean old) games onto the computer and set the computer back to the windows version appropriate to run the games and they run better on vista than they ever did on XP or 98. It was an adjustment, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I'm better that at this point, it's tons better - less problems as it's been out a while now.
Marycita - I'm on finals this week - 2 finals and 1 paper to go and I'll be finished. I took Tuesday off from work to finish studying and take the finals, and will finish any I haven't done on Wednesday. Hope you're feeling better.
Hi Kev & Maid Marie - Welcome!

Our primetimers [I teach the senior adults, though am not a senior adult] had their Christmas Party. Other than having to wait 90 min for our food, we had a good time. I always come home from a primetimer event with contentment and happiness in my heart.

If you want to get rid of the annoying n00b-proof menus then you can go (WINKEY+R) type msconfig go to the "tools" tab and click Disable UAC and restart the machine. That's a basic idea but I've pretty extensively modified my OS core already so it looks like windows than before.
