I want to be financially blessed what am I doing wrong?

I have been praying for almost 2 years for God to bless me with a job that I can find fulfillment in. Right now I work as a substitute teacher to make a little income but my family and I need more. Yes, I could work a minimum wage job somewhere and I am not above taking a minimum wage job. However, I am an educated person and believe I can find better. I know the economy is bad right now but I know God can provide a financial blessing or job opportunity my way. I will admit I have to work a job that is a good fit for me and will provide job satisfaction. If I work a job that is too stressful or brings no fulfillment I will be completely unhappy and will not be a good employee. It seems that my husband and I cannot catch a break when it comes a job opportunity. I've been praying and trying to leave it in God's hand but I feel like my prayer continues to fall on deaf ears. I know that money is not everything and I do not live a frivolous life. I am also a person with a giving spirit. Does anyone out there have any insight to why my husband and I are not being financially blessed or why the correct job opportunity is not coming our way?

Although you have been waiting for two years already, you may have to wait longer. Just continue to pray and keep hope. Also, keep looking for permanent teaching positions and don't give up. If you are truly committed to the education track (which it seems you are), than you will eventually find a permanent position.

On a side note, have you considered relocating to find a position? You may also be certified in a subject that isn't in high demand at the moment. There are many factors at play. However, I firmly believe that you will find a position eventually, as you do seem committed.

1 Timothy 6:

7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Have you prepared yourself by reading the NEW TESTIMENT as many times as it takes so that the next time you read it you will already know what it's going to say? For then it's locked in your heart and you can draw from this the rest of your life.

Have you devoted your WHOLE life to GOD and do you seek HIS WILL in your every decision?

Have you been ANOINTED ( BORN AGAIN-SAVED )?

LOOK TO THE BENIFITS OF THIS:

" 1 John
Chapter 2

26
I write you these things about those who would deceive you.
27
As for you, the anointing that you received from him remains in you, so that you do not need anyone to teach you. But his anointing teaches you about everything and is true and not false; just as it taught you, remain in him. "

For you will then have GOD'S:
1. GUIDE
2. TEACHER
3. COMUNICATOR
4. COMFORTER

You see if you are ANOINTED by GOD you would have all you need to have a direct line to GOD and no human stands in the way.

This is the most important thing that you will ever do in your life. If you have the supplies above in GOD'S WORD then you have all you need to concentrate on the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE.

I SURE HOPE YOU HAVEN'T BEEN JUST WASTING YOUR TIME ON VANITY!!!

ALWAYS REMEMBER:

JESUS IS RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE AT!!! EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T SEE HIM!!!

Hi Lilly. I'm sorry to hear of your financial troubles, and I hope that all turns out well for you. But have you asked yourself this: does God really want to bless me financially? The truth is, He may not want to right now, or ever in this life. I know that's a hard thing to hear, and God is often very frustrating to us in the way that He answers prayer.

But at the same time, God does care for you, and He promises to take care of you. When I begin to worry about my life, I find it very helpful to turn to Matthew 6:25-34.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

A couple things that I see in this passage that don't always immediately catch the eye: Jesus tells us that God, our father, knows what our needs are. He is not ignorant of our needs, but He gives to us according to what He wants us to have. Jesus also acknowledges that our troubles are real troubles. He does not minimize our problems, but says that each day has enough trouble of its own. He experienced the troubles of life on earth, and He sympathizes with our plights.

At the same time, Jesus tells us that we are to seek the kingdom of God first, not our own kingdoms. We are called to live for what God is building, instead of trying to build up our own treasures, such as a nice house, a nice car, good education for our children, etc. All of these are good things! But we must seek first God's kingdom. All that we truly need, God will give to us.

We also must keep in mind that our life here on Earth in this age is passing away. It is but a moment in the eye of eternity. Therefore should we store up treasures for a moment, or for eternity?

Lilly, I hope that it doesn't seem like I am minimizing your troubles. Your troubles are real, and God is concerned about them and about you. I truly hope that God will bless you financially, but I don't know God's plan for you, or for me. May God bless you in all good things, according to His mercy and love.

-your brother in Christ

Plant a seed and God will meet a need....my advice is to give extra on top of your offering..that is what my parents always did and we were always blessed with more back..and expect to receive when you give as well. God bless

Sometimes we pray but forget the practical steps that are often necessary. If you look at those who have 'got ahead' you will find they took opportunities, were alert to them, had a drive to succeed, and took steps to reach their goals.

You will also find may of them are greedy, power hungry, selfish and without real values.

So, its quite a mix learning how to get on in life and still maintain Christian standards.

Malachi 3:[7] Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?[8] Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.[9] Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.[10] Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.[11] And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.[12] And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

The tithe is 1/10th of your gross income. The true blessings come when you give over and above the 10%. That is called the offering (sacrifice).

I was in your situation years ago. In fact worse. I was unemployed for 4 years. After tithing faithfully for 2 years and getting nowhere, I was moved to give $20 to a visiting minister. Within 3 days, I had 3 job interviews. Within 5 days, I got 2 job offers. Within 7 days, I was employed, and I've been employed ever since. This was in the year 2000.

I am very happy to tithe and give love offerings once in a while and can't wait to do so because God Blesses me. I may not have a fancy car or tons of money in the bank, but I am not in debt, have positive cash flow, and people give me free things all the time. I have never had to buy clothes for my children, because friends and relatives continually supply us without us ever asking. Sometimes things appear exactly when I need them. This is what I call prosperity, and there is more to come!

God not only gives me things, but also saves me a lot of money. This weekend, I went out looking for a new toilet, because I'm renovating my bathroom. I scored a $650+ brand new toilet for only $300, because it was used as a display, and the store owner wanted to keep his stock circulating. He told me it was the best model he had in the store. My total budget was $300. Another way to look at it is that God gave me $350 out of the blue. Things like this happen all the time for me because I obey the Lord with regards to tithing. My wife understands this as well and tithes faithfully without me having to remind her. I have more today in terms of cash, possession and answered prayers than I ever had when I didn't tithe accurately. Even my annointings and gifts of the Spirit are greater because I tithe.

God wants to bless his children, but he can't a lot of times because it would be contradictory to His Word with respect to the Book of Malachi.

Don't let anyone ever tell you that tithing was only for Old Testament days. Even Paul spoke about tithing. Tithing started with Abraham, the Father of Faith. We live according to the Law of Faith. Therefore, we need to tithe.

Dear Lilly

Please DO NOT be mislead. You can't buy GOD. What do you have that HE doesn't have? The ONLY answer could be your heart.

There's a lot of sharks out there in the name of preachers and priest. They want their pockets filled no matter what your condition is. GOD'S WORD addresses this issue and speaks of the punishment these sharks will receive.

Look at what you have to gain by just devoting your WHOLE life to GOD:

" 1 John
Chapter 2

26
I write you these things about those who would deceive you.
27
As for you, the anointing that you received from him remains in you, so that you do not need anyone to teach you. But his anointing teaches you about everything and is true and not false; just as it taught you, remain in him. "

Once you are ANOINTED by GOD you SHALL have a:

1.TEACHER
2.COMUNICATOR
3.GUIDE
4.COMFORTER

This is really what your looking for.

When you are ANOINTED by GOD you will receive the MISSION GOD has for just you. For the GOD will supply all your needs EVEN what you have not the ability to have.

THIS I KNOW FOR A FACT!!!

Stay away from VANITY.

JESUS IS RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE AT!!! EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T SEE HIM!!!

I know God can provide a financial blessing or job opportunity my way. I will admit I have to work a job that is a good fit for me and will provide job satisfaction. If I work a job that is too stressful or brings no fulfillment I will be completely unhappy and will not be a good employee.
Maybe all of this is about growing past your "comfort boundaries" and maybe you are to push yourself into what it is to be a good servant, in the Lords service and/or in the service of others.. Because we are told if we are responsible with very little then we will be responsible with much, so we will be given more.. If we are unfaithful with what we have been given then what we do have will be taken away, and given to someone else..

I know your "Education" entitles you to more, or at least that what we have all been told since we were very small, but if the majority of the people who you are competing with in the job market, are all similarly educated then you have to work harder or have something to set yourself apart from the rest of the herd.. Is all very basic economics. (Supply and demand)

This either means taking a less suitable job, and working your way up or you can take a job that doesn't give you the satisfaction you want, but doing a good days work for a good days pay anyway, learn to be an asset even if you "feel" like this whole experience is a hindrance.. Then take your glowing recommendation, and stellar work history with you into your next interview.
In taking one or even both of these options it will help prepare you for service to the Lord as well.. Because not all of his jobs are glorifying positions, nor do they have to be self satisfying either, but they are still there and need to be filled..

Your other option is to wait this whole thing out and see who breaks first, you or God.
