Sounds like a lunatic talking, I know. But maybe not. Actually if you are a citizen of heaven, it would make sense to make a bigger deal of that than residency on the earth (however important). I'm not saying what we do on earth doesn't matter--it matters bigtime. I'm talking about priorities. Citizenship in heaven has to be a bigger priority than citizenship of a country or the world as a whole. Then we have the power to change this place, which needs a great amount of changing.
great point
St.Thomas More said for his last words
"I die the King's good servant and God's first."
this was right before the king had him beheaded

St.Raphael pray for us
O angel of God, my holy guardian, given to me from heaven, enlighten me this day, and save me from all evil. Instruct me in doing good deeds, and set me on the path of salvation. Amen.
In a way, that is correct. However, in too many circumstances and in entirely the wrong ways, the Modern Church (note the capitalization) focuses too much on the afterlife, to the point that they neglect the stewardship commanded of us in Scripture. Some of them are starting to come around, yes, but I think that's largely due to the influence of Emerging Church-type groups and those that are sick of seeing the apathy that runs rampant in the culture of popular religion, at least here in the States. But they still have a long way to go to remedy the problem.

Is the pain of not knowing, worth the price of saying nothing?

Good point~we are here as Christ's Body, not just marking time until the big heaven party..
I think we're to embrace this life and live it as fully as possible
we can do that and still focus on the next life

Show me a man who trusts his own righteousness, obedience, devotion, feelings, or anything else of his own, and I will show you a man to whom the blood and righteousness of Christ is worthless. Don Fortner
It often surprises people to learn that God is not always pleased when people worship him. We might be inclined to think that God should be thankful for any attention we give him out of our busy schedules. But worship is not about God's thanking us; it is about our thanking him. And God is not pleased with just anything we choose to do in his presence. The mighty Lord of heaven and earth demands that our worship-indeed, all of life-be governed by his word.
John M. Frame
The Bible will give Christ to you in an intimacy so close that he would be less visible to you if he stood before your eyes.
Erasmus
