Anything having to do with the RCC, KJO, music, the old ones about role players, the ones about truck drivers ... in fact just about the majority of his are utter crud.
Yes, I would agree. The Catholic bashing is particularly inexcusable. Why would you have to lie about an organization that freely admits to believing in heretical doctrines?

Respectfully Arunma I don't think he's lieing. Lieing would imply that he knows what he is diseminating is untrue. I honestly believe that he believes the things in his tracts. While that would make him Naive at best and more likely woefully ignorant or even possibly the victim of emotional issues it wouldn't make him a liar.
Nevertheless he still has several very good, doctrinally correct tracts. I know for a fact that they are read. I would guess more than any other tracts ever distributed. I have discussed Chick tracts with a very broad spectrum of people from homeless women with a 5th grade education up to and including Ph.D holding professors from distinguished Universities.

I mean this question in all sincerity- but how can a Chick Tract bring someone closer to God and foster any kind of relationship?
I've read many of them and they image they make of God is that of an entity which creates arbitrary rules and anyone that doesn't follow them goes to hell. He seems to believe in an extremely scary and judgmental God - and presents that view to people. You need to recognize you are wrong because God will send you to hell otherwise.
I don't see anything in Chick tracts about God's love. I see no reason to call God father, or Jesus brother. The only compelling reason I can see to being a Christian is because you want to be saved, so you don't go to hell.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to believe in God the way Chick does. How is Chick helpful, how are his tracts "tools"?

Not that I'm upset but it wasn't six months ago that FundyJohn posted a link to the exact same tract that DeaconDean did above and the thread was closed within hours. What exactly has changed?
Changes in policy and rules. We can now link to Chick tracts, and as long as they are not flaming another group here.

I think Religious tracts can put a person's mind onto the Lord
and He can use that to draw them to Himself.
I've seen them taped to payphone booths in very bad areas of
the city - lots of homeless & unfortunate folks on the streets.
I think those are best used in those areas rather than in, say,...
Beverly Hills.
Either way, they aren't all the same and God CAN use them to
reach someone in a desperate spiritual condition.
It's like anything religious/Christian - for the 1 person it helps, it
can turn off 1 or more against it.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
God will use good & bad to His glory. If a tract is bad in our view,
God can still use it to reach somebody (Phil. 1:14-20 might be a reference you could use about at least Christ being preached)
