Thanks for your views, I would rather not have my family play with serpents, but then again, we have all free will don't we.
Do you think it is a good idea to put a snake around your neck?
Bye!
Even I would not expose my family to snakes, though I can handle them perfectly.
As for putting them around your neck, what is immoral about it? But then, can you dare to drink the deadliest poison? But Shiva did that and trapped it in His throat. A MIRACLE of the first order. Could Jesus handle toxic substances?

I am not sure, but He had no problem resurrecting the dead and healed thousands, so my guess is that He would have no problem with poison.
Now that I think of it, even Paul who was not a god, got bit by a snake and he did not get sick.
The bible says it created the universe, stars, earth, etc but cannot mention a simple statement that the earth revolves around the sun!
Why would it need to? The fact of heliocentrism was known around the world, before the idea of geocentrism which only came about late, for tens of thousands of years. The only people that didn't know it were people that possessed no native civilization of their own and didn't study the world.
It seems opaque to us, because we spend so much time inside. But back then people used logical inferences to discover that earth was a sphere (the only thing that can always give a circular shadow no matter what direction light is coming from, such as the shadow of the earth on the moon, is a sphere) and the earth revolved around the sun (lots of ways to figure this out, but one is that in the middle of winter - because the earth at night is pointed in totally different direction - some of the stars visible are ones not visible, from any place on earth, in the middle of summer).

Cattle die, kinsmen die the self must also die;I know one thing which never dies: the reputation of each dead man.
Your motto is very well accepted in many societies......to me personally I believe I am more than just the flesh and that there are more than what we see, therefore I decided to follow Jesus who died and rose from the dead!
Congratulations on your finding your way... I am sure that millions of others feel the same way about their specific faith... I know I do

It very much depends on the species of snake... a friend of mine has a beautiful albino boa constrictor and I sit happily for many hours with it over my shoulders... he also has a cobra, which, of course, stays in it's tank... the difference is the level of danger. Not all snakes are alike, just as not all humans will find fulfillment in the same faith.

Thanks, do you believe that there are more than 1 truth when we die?
I believe that I will find that out when I die... as will everyone else. To be so concerned with life after death, while still living means that life is not lived to it's fullest potential.
My faith does not have a monopoly on the truth, and neither does any other (my opinion)... after all, as Pontius Pilate said "What is truth?"

I can agree with you on the fact that we will most surely find out what happens after we die.
Tell me, how do you define living life to its fullest?
Not being worried about where I may go when I die and living just for the sake of being alive. Treating all people with respect, not because I am commanded to do so, but because it is the right thing to do. Doing good for goods' sake and not for any kind of reward in heaven which is selfish as you are doing good ultimately for yourself and the things it can bring you (not you, the general you I mean here).
Having fun, unhindered by anything other than judicial laws and not being afraid to have an opinion and voice it, whether it is popular or not. To laugh and not be afraid of burning to a crisp for doing the things that I've been put here to enjoy, just because some say that they are "wrong". To not have to pretend and do things because they are expected of me... to strike out on a path unsure of where it may lead, but knowing that wherever I find my destination is where I am meant to be.
To love whom I choose, regardless of gender (and no, I'm not gay, although I have gay family and friends)... to greet each day with joy and wonder and just appreciate being alive, without having to constantly check myself against an archaic set of unattainable goals and ideals to see if I am "good enough". To be responsible for my own actions, and not pass the buck when I make mistakes, but to admit to them and learn and move on.
To at the same time, care for and be cared for by the very ground I walk on... to give thanks for all I have no matter how small, and know that once I am gone that I will not cease to be, that I will see those whom I have loved and lost once again, and then get to come back and do it all over again. To live without worry about things I cannot change, yet also to gain the knowledge and experience to change the things I can.
To realise that I am insignificant to this planet, yet also important to those around me. To just take time to "be me".
To love, laugh, sing, enjoy and experience everything, to have nothing withheld from me unless I choose not to grasp it... to expand to my fullest potential.
That is living life to it's fullest to me.

You know, I call that freedom! I am very surprised that a person can be truly free without Jesus......to be honest, I have not met anyone who are free without Jesus, they think they are, but then they have a problem with somethings like alcohol, drugs, immorality, greed, pride, pornography, depression, hate, unforgiveness, anxiety, you name it.......to me that is not living life to the fullest, only living life for the now and deal with the problems later.
Having fun has cost great sadness to some of my friends, they made girls pregnant and have to take care of a child they almost never see.....it was fun while you know what lasted, but then......
You stated this "it is the right thing to do", how do we know what is the right thing to do?
If you are truly free I believe that is what Jesus wanted for everyone and I wish you the best!
