i honestly can't see it creating the major media whirlwind here that it did in the US simply bcause racial tensions have never been as high here as they have in the US

Greetings, my northern neigbors! I'm wondering if Obama gets elected (which I hope he does), how long before Canada elects her own non-white prime minister. I just have a feeling that America is poised to set a precedent for Europe, Oceania, and North America.
Why are you so worried? Are you looking to move to Canada and save yourself from a non white president? You are happy living 8 years under a moron named Bush but when an intelligent black president gets elected you get scared?

You're question is suspicious and seems to have a little fear in it. Why does it matter if there will be more non-white leaders in the western world? It's the 21st century, race should not be an issue any more unless your one of those bush republicans from the south. Time to move forward, not backwards.

No, it shouldn't be an issue. But in lots of places, it is. More black leaders could help change the opinions of those who do take issue with race.
