I, too, do not believe that the Theory of Evolution interprets best the evidence science provides us on the matter of the history of the species of the Earth.
When science show us the production of new genetic information (which is essential to the idea of the evolution of the species), I'll pay the Theory of Evolution closer attention.

I am wondering someone told me that the bible says the earth is a few thousand years old, not sure if thats true or not though.
Many people think that the bible says that, but the actual words of the text don't demand that conclusion.

Evolution seems to fit the all of the evidence we have, there's nothing in the theory that violates any laws of physics, and it doesn't actually contradict Sacred Scripture.
But it's not a very big issue for me, and I've stopped worrying about it.

Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you....For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink..."
As a result of this, many (of) his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him...
