We are in the new covenant where all things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. We are no longer bound by the chains of legalism. We are to be slaves of righteousness and nothing else. I believe we are to be a living sacrifice regardless if it's our money or our bodies. However much that is it's up to God to instill that on our hearts. |

Do we need more million dollar churhces or hundred thousand dollar bell towers? Or thousand dollar vestments? Other private charities than religion are much more focused on donating solely to their cause rather than to their own establishment. If you really feel the need to relieve some guilt by thinking that you help, then donate to something else besides the Church. |

I give a lot more than 10% of my gross away, anything else I give voluntarily is usually from Me, not my wallet.
They say you get back what you give, one way or another. |

Reps: 7,110 (power: 18) | | I give what I can... I don't have a whole lot of money to throw around, some weeks I have more than others. For a long time I didn't give money, because I didn't believe in the church that I was attending (but I didn't have an option) and I didn't want my money to go towards working in a church that was bs...
I went to hillsong church in sydney a few years ago, and I was appalled that they had a 10 minute 'offering' sermon before they took up the offering, alternately attempting to bribe people, and then coerce them into giving money. Very sad. |

Reps: 3,403 (power: 10) | | | I voted give as God leads me. I use 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV) "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." as my guide. For me personally, I'd rather be happy about the amount I give, rather than giving more and not truly being able to or wanting to. So some times we give more than other times. |

Reps: 552 (power: 0) | |  Greetings from a sunny South Africa
Me and my house gladly pays:
1) Gods tithing calculated at 10% in our income;
2) Firstfruits (calculated with the increase of our income); and
3) Sowing where the Lord leads us to sow.
He never fails!!!

Reps: 835 (power: 0) | | | I believe in tithing as set out in the Torah. There was a saying someone once said on a Jewish documentary, when referring to helping the needy: "if you've got money in the bank, you aren't doing enough."
