2 the economy is in such bad shape he can expand the government with impunity because too many are so focused on the dead presidents they aren't paying attention to the one that is alive.

3 the bush admin trashed our party so badly it's hard for elected Repubs to command the kind of respect needed for an audience of influence.

4 unless we can purge our Party of the dominant liberal polices we've latched onto over the last decade he has a good chance of being re-elected. (This is not to say. fellow Repubs should change their position on things like gay marriage but good grief we have so many more important issues to address it should not be on the top half of list of priorties.)

So yeah, iam ready for a new prez too!
I disagree entirely on the number four. Some of the main issues that make our party different from the Democratic party are gay marriage and abortion; especially as Christians. For us to move these issues away from the 'top half of list of priorities' could be detremental to Christians across the nation. Thousands of unborn a year would be killed, ontop of the already grieving numbers. If we ignore gay marriage and allow it to continue, Pastor's would loose their freedom of religion, because they could not refuse if a gay couple came to them and asked to be married; he'd be sued for being prejudice if he did.

While I agree that there are economic issues that need to be adressed, gun rights issues that need to be adressed and others, I don't believe that these issues should be put on the back burner either.

But I'm confident we can find a way to blame obama. I remember a lot of people saying bush wasn't responsible for 9E because he was in office for 8 months. It's this type of horrid partisanship that simply helps create new problems while ignoring current ones. What's American about that?

ROFL you again do not know a dang thing. In fact as always you are just laughable in your comments.

What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time – to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can. "

The religious right in the GOP is probably a liability to the GOP right now. Look at the '08 elections. The RR was not too happy with the choice of McCain as nominee. So what did they do? Well, they certainly didn't vote for Obama.

Besides, let's face it. Abortion has been legal for over 35 years and gay marriage is gaining ground every day. Neither of those trains can be stopped anymore, IMO.

From what I know, yes, pastors would probably be fine refusing to perform same-sex weddings on religious grounds. Photographers, on the other hand, are quite possibly up a creek.

Being different from the Dems is insufficient for defense of a position. If there are 2 different gallons of spoiled milk would you be able to state one is okay to drink because it has a different label than the other? The religious right has killed the integrity of our party and this happened largely because it focused on two issues Jesus never once spoke about. As for the claim pastors would be threatened by gay marriage........it's not cool to pass off petty gossip.

No business should be allowed to discriminate. It's unAmerican.

The info from DALLAS is not what is happening in HOUSTON. And yes it was ignored because it is not correct.

What they have failed to inform is that some of those stats are SKEWED due to IKE. If you take that out of the picture t hen Houston was not feeling the effects of the recession till now.

Among the state’s biggest cities, Austin and Dallas have slowed the most in recent months, while Houston continued to grow. Recession hits Texas - Houston still grows | Bayou City Realty & Investment

But of course I doubt you in your great intellgence even knew that Ike hit and took out a CITY. Ike literally destoryed an economy that no one cares about because it wasn't Katrina and in the land of the liberals. Our biggest port in the country....and yes internationally speaking it is....is still not up to 100%, our rigs are still not up to 100%, Galveston which employes a lot of people in the Houston area is barely at 60%.

Texas was responsible for 70% of all growth in 2008 of the US.
We have a surplus still in Texas and in Houston...thank you Rick Perry.

Again, until you get it right really stop running your mouth about something you know nothing about.

I live here not some place up north with no knowledge. I work here in the industry that is getting hit hard now. You don't know jack about Texas.

But of course if you want me to start talking like I know Mass I can make up stuff about that too.

This is too funny for words. Is it even realized the source from your Realty link is the exact source I linked?

So.....

1. My source is dismissed while you cite the exact same one.
2. You link a commercial site that ignored the fact home sales were down over 26%.

3. You blamed obama for houston's economy but then cite Ike as the reason.

4. You first claimed Houston's economy was going down but are now trying to say the opposite

It's like watching a Kerry Flip-flop-a-thon!
