if you are a Christian then you are in union, though an imperfect union, with the Catholic Church, I assume you were Baptised in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit?
I disagree. The Bible says that there can be no union between the two.
there is no salvation outside of the Church
And we reject your church, it's authority, and it's teachings. For you to arrogantly claim that we're still a part of it is no different than a Mormon who baptises a dead non-Mormon by proxy and then insists that, because of their baptism, they're now a Mormon.
not argue but can ask questions, this is not the topic of this thread, this thread is about an Indian translation of the Bible that tries to reach Indian people with footnotes explain the faith in ways they can understand it and a few pictures that symbolicly show that Jesus is Lord of all peoples and not just the white Englishmen who colonized them for a few centuries
Yes, a Bible perversion that takes away the Messanic prophecies Jesus must fulfil in order to be our Savior.
it does not take away Jesus being Jewish, the picture is symbolic, it is art,
And this is why I'm so glad I'm not Catholic or a part of that church. If they have not taught you the Bible well enough to know why Jesus is Jewish and why our salvation depends on Him being a Jew, then they have failed you.
You may feel that it's only symbolic, but if you don't believe that Jesus is a Jew, then you're not following the Jesus of the Bible.

No different than a picture of an African Jesus, a Chinese Jesus, or a Caucasian Jesus.
It is absolutely different. The Bible makes such a point of Jesus being a Jew for a reason. Jesus must be a Jew in order to meet the Messianic prophecies. Jesus must be a Jew in order to be an acceptable sacrifice.
If Jesus is not a Jew, then He is not the Jesus of the Bible and cannot save.

No one is saying that Jesus is not a jew, we all know that Jesus is a jew, the Indian translation of the Bible says that Jesus is a jew, you are fighting setting up a strawman. Do you think the pictures they have in america making him look like a northen european are any less heretical?

OK. Your utter contempt for the word of God is precisely why I reject the Catholic church.
I do not have conempt for the word of God, you are saying that people are preaching that Jesus was not a Jew, that is not true, the Indian translation of the Bible says Jesus is a jew, there is a piece of art that is ment to be symbolic rather then a literal representation of what happened at that time.
You are upset because the a picture makes Jesus look Indian, do you get upset when american art that makes Jesus look Northern European?

Reason: typo
It is absolutely different. The Bible makes such a point of Jesus being a Jew for a reason. Jesus must be a Jew in order to meet the Messianic prophecies. Jesus must be a Jew in order to be an acceptable sacrifice.

Once again it is a picture. You are assuming that simply because the NIB has a picture of Jesus as an Indian peasant it refers to him as an Indian peasant.
Another thing that has been bugging me through this whole thing: You are assuming that an Adult Indian cannot comprehend between the Biblical Jesus and a picture in his Bible. A five year can be taught that the picture of the Caucasian Jesus in their Bible isn't the Biblical Jesus, and yet you think a grown Desi convert cannot tell the difference between a picture of Jesus, and the Jesus of the Bible?
Until you get to know the Indian culture, and it's people, don't make assumptions about their ability to comprehend Biblical truths. They aren't children, and they are far from dumb.
