Healing and Deliverance Ministry Today and Unto The End Of The Age
For many decades, the ministry of healing and deliverance has ministered to many through good Biblical understanding and knowledge of those “earthly and heavenly things” that are explained in detail in His Word. Today, the healing and deliverance ministry has experienced much misunderstanding and criticism causing doubt and confusion in the Body of Christ. It has become apparent that many high-flying “self-anointed ministries” are doing more harm than good.
Most “God-anointed” ministries have shared that even though their ministries have provoked misunderstanding and criticism because of those “self-anointed” ministries, they had all said that those misunderstandings and criticisms were outweighed by the satisfaction of helping those desperate and struggling Christians to be set free from their captivity.
The many different beliefs, false beliefs, and concerns of Christians challenge the literal Biblical legitimacy of many of the claims of healing and deliverance from demonisation. Many ministers have shared that the greatest satisfaction is when a person walks out of a crowd of people at a healing seminar, and says to them, “I owe my life to you!” And then they would say, with tears in their eyes, "Twenty years ago, I was demonised, and appeared to have no hope. I believed that I was a Christian. Then I found Jesus, after a friend gave me some of your healing and deliverance audiotapes/books/videos. And now I am free! And if it wasn't for your audio tapes/books/videos, I would have been destroyed by now!”
I wonder how many Christians could say they experienced the same, and realised that they didn't really know our Lord Jesus Christ, lacked Biblical foundation in His Word, and weren’t conversant with the spiritual consequences of sin, when they found that their "house was empty, swept, and put in order" (see Matthew 12:43-45). Today, many “wayside, stony, and thorny” Christians are not founded in “good (Biblical) soil”, and don’t realise that they are founded in “bad (Biblical) soil” (see Matthew 13:4-7).
Sad, as it is, many Christians have a closed and shallow mind belief, and have no idea that their life of torment, harassment, oppression, and suppression is being caused by Satan and his forces. How can we build a good Biblical foundation of a ministry to clear away many false beliefs and misunderstanding of the healing and deliverance ministry?
When spiritual reality, spiritual commonsense, and spiritual discernment is established, then those many struggling Christians within the Body of Christ, who are seeking: healing of their broken-hearts; deliverance from evil; freedom from captivity; and healing, will realise that their struggles are against Satan and his forces as explained in Ephesians 6:10-20, and know that they “walk about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour them” (1 Pet. 5:8).
As we look at our Lord Jesus Christ’s ministry, there was one common characteristic of His ministry; HE never made a hard and fast distinction between healing people of sicknesses, and delivering them from demons.
We also need to understand that the people HE attended to were the normal run-of-the-mill Jews, who were good, respectable, religious people who attended the temple, but a demon had gained access to areas of their personalities, and as a result they were not in full control of their lives. Today, the same normal run-of-the-mill Christian, who attends church on Sundays are suffering from the same problem.
Today’s Christians are good, respectable, and religious people, the same as the Jews during our Lord Jesus Christ’s ministry. They attend church, using all the right religious language, and expressing the same areas of their personalities as the Jewish people did. Their “house” has been invaded by demons, and as a result they were not in full control of their lives. Surely these struggling Christians of today, need the same healing and deliverance just as much as the Jewish and Jewish-Christian people needed, whom our Lord Jesus Christ ministered to.
He made it clear in Luke 13:32 that His ministry to the sick and demonised was to continue after His death and resurrection, He commissioned His disciples, and He extended their ministry to the whole world. His Commission was simple and practical to make disciples, and then His disciples would in turn make further disciples teaching them all that our Lord Jesus Christ had taught them, from one generation to another, “unto the end of the age”.
Today, we see His ministry still be carried out, but sadly over the centuries, the Church had made many changes that has caused many unnecessary criticisms, debates, and misunderstandings of such a valuable ministry to the Body of Christ.
He came to heal the broken-hearted, deliver them from evil, set the captives free, heal their sicknesses, and cast out demons. And today, there is no different, as it was in the days of HIS disciples, and those who followed them over the centuries.
I so agree.. at the moment my home church does not move in this.. it drives me to distraction so much so that I am more then ready to move on.. Every second person i think including people here.. need healing and a ministry that does not just preach the word but demostrates the power of God... The services are in essence a good show but lacking power.. oomph.. and so many are weak and sickly because they do not discern the LORD's body.. We are His body here and now.. at work as you write.. to heal the broken hearted, set the prisoner free.. etc.. they aren't getting healed because we are not healing them... Jesus told us to do so and He lives in us or is supposed to be.. and we are not doing so..

Yes, my dear sister, I live on the Gold Coast and they all flock around in churches idolising their pastor not realising they are deceived and seduced by false, new age, practical teaching. Each church in my area teaches are different types of theories, and beliefs.
They have no idea of their authority in our Lord Jesus Christ, and at the same time there are no healing and deliverance ministries anywhere on the Gold Coast, and if there is they are "self-anointed" and they do more damage than good.
Worldly pyschotherapy has taken over through fear and political correctness, and the spiritual side of His Kingdom and the powers of darkness is completely ignored.
If you suggest to anyone that demons are involved, they would stand with their mouth agape, as if you had handed them a grenade, and then they would tar-and-feather you and drum-roll you out of the church.
That is another reason why I am an out-of-church Christian, as I'm fed up with all this fairy-floss religion that is full of goody-goodies, and Amway and Mannatech sales reps, whose whole life is revolved about prosperity, multi-level marketing and manifestations of their so-called touches from God. The only touch they get is from their hip pocket or a "unholy" spirit.
If they only knew, that freedom in Christ comes from filling the "empty, swept, and put order" house with His Word and our Lord Jesus Christ. Their are so many souls still yearning for that freedom, and they run around in circles in tormented and harassed; beating themself up because they believe they lack faith, when it's only a straight forward "demonisation".
