I have just finished reading His Holiness' new book, Have you seen the one I love? Contemplations on the Song of Songs (2008), which is available on Amazon, or in bulk direct from St. Mark's Church in Boston. It is an amazing book - profound, deeply moving, and one of the most enjoyable spiritual books I have read in many years.
Unlike some of the translations of His Holiness' works, this one is in perfect English.
I would recommend it highly to all Christians - but obviously those in the Coptic Church will have a hard job in subduing their pride here; he really is a marvellous example of a great Christian exegete.
If your parish does not have a copy, get one; or even better, get together and buy a number; it makes a great text for Bible study.
In Christ,
Anglian

I have two books by His Holiness, one is about the heresy of salvation in an instant, it stresses the need for baptism

St.Raphael pray for us
O angel of God, my holy guardian, given to me from heaven, enlighten me this day, and save me from all evil. Instruct me in doing good deeds, and set me on the path of salvation. Amen.
"Have you seen the one I love?" is really an EXCELLENT book. I'm from the Boston church, and I know a LOT of time and effort was put in to make sure the translation was correct. I like HH's books in general, but with them always being translations, you sometimes feel like something is lost...but NOT with this one. Definately check it out, there's also a website for it with a sample chapter. www.haveyouseentheoneilove.com
I would highly recommend the book. It really is just a beautiful read.
God Bless!

Yes, it shows that so much work went into the translation; it is by far the best translation of one of HH's books; they are all, of course, well worth reading - but it is wonderful to have his words so well presented.
peace,
Anglian

If pregnancy presents a challenge, do we as a society rise to the challenge by dispensing with the child? And when a pregnancy comes at a difficult time, what is the worthier response? Do we surround mother and child with protection and love, or do we hold out to her the cold comfort of a trip to an abortionist? Where is our true character as a nation to be seen - let's ask ourselves this question: Where is our true character to be seen, in an adoptive home, or in an abortion clinic? Who are we? Who are we America? That question deserves an answer. Bob Casey Sr.
