Jesus taught we shouldn't make a show of praying, so most of his prayers were silent. Jesus lifted his eyes when he prayed. This is what he did when healing a deaf man. When given the surprise of the woman caught in adultery, he immediately stooped and pretended to draw in the dirt, praying like crazy.

When I pray for someone, I ask what I can pray for. When the Lord tells me to heal, I can pronounce healing over the person and they are healed. If he says it is a curse, I rebuke the curse until it is gone. If He says it is a demon, I command it to leave. Sometimes He tells me to pray for a while in a certain way. The person is gradually healed. If he tells me to pray for anointing for ministry, I will ignore their request and pray for their anointing. If He tells me not to pray ... I don't pray!

Arbitrarily commanding or doing something is dangerous practice. We are not God. It is not our power but God's. We are establishing self-sovereignty in the situation, which is idolatry.

If you don't have divine guidance, that should be your first objective. We are people of the Holy Spirit. Without His guidance, we can't walk the Christian walk right. Try one of the following books:
"How To Listen to God" by Charles Stanley
"Hearing God's Voice" by Henry Blackaby
"Hearing God" by Dallas Willard
"How You Can Be led by the Spirit of God" by Kenneth Hagin

Well I often have not got a clue what to pray though I am learning a great deal about what Jesus will do and who HE is and who I am through Him.. I am so glad for the Holy Spirit praying through us..

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

When given the surprise of the woman caught in adultery, he immediately stooped and pretended to draw in the dirt, praying like crazy.

Angeloffire: Actually Jesus no where in the bible does it ever say that Jesus prayed for a sick person and he never told us to pray for the sick. He said heal the sick, cast out demons. Just because he looked up, doesn't mean he was praying....that is inference and could possibly be true.

Timuchin: Arbitrarily commanding or doing something is dangerous practice. We are not God. It is not our power but God's. We are establishing self-sovereignty in the situation, which is idolatry.

Angeloffire: If you ask a demon to leave....it probably isn't going to, okay? Trust me, they aren't like that. What is dangerous is people casting them out without even knowing what they can do and who they are. This is how people get hurt.

Timuchin: If you don't have divine guidance, that should be your first objective. We are people of the Holy Spirit. Without His guidance, we can't walk the Christian walk right. Try one of the following books:

Angeloffire: Divine guidance is truly how every christian should live. However, none of the ministers you listed below even know who or what a demon is. Though I'm sure they have other inspiring knowledge to add to the body of Christ and I have read some of their writings.

The most accurate book out there on demons is written by Pastor Wallen Yep of Warrior Saint Ministry. Derik Prince was close and describes them in one of his books.

As far as spiritual goes only those who operate in the gifts are spiritual, the rest are simply religious.

And did you know that if you pray in tongues for two hours a day that it scares demons! Also, you will begin to operate in other gifts too. Sometimes I think that God makes sure we use one gift before giving us another one.....

What you say is true, but... Jesus' followers told us to pray for sickness or have the elders pray for the sickness. They knew how Jesus operated better than we do. It's impossible for us to know what Jesus silently did without help from witnesses.

I wasn't responding to commanding exorcism. I know from experience that exorcism can be done with a whisper of command.

I was responding to the command of healing or miracles without divine guidance or at least confirmation.

Oops! Only those who have received love by grace through faith through prayer to Jesus are Christians. The rest are simply religious. (Matt.7:22,23 and 1 Cor.13:2)

Having never even heard of Wallen Yap, I will defer judgement on him. Kenneth Hagin certainly did know about demons.

After checking out Wallen Yap, I'd say he's off track. Here's a quote from his website:
"Contrary to contemporary deliverance ministries, deliverance is best described as the removal of all demonic spirits and the removal of all sicknesses. Deliverance ministries that do not know clearly what a demon is or do not have a comprehensive deliverance process, should be avoided! Our position is simple, if you do not know what a demon is, how is it possible to get rid of them? Demons are not fallen angels or Nephilims! When an unsaved person dies, they become a demon, because their spirit has not been cleansed by the blood of Jesus! They are the original unclean spirit as called by the scriptures. Not all demons are unclean spirits, but all unclean spirits are demons! With 5 out of 6 persons in the world being unsaved, a cataclysmic end of the world is rapidly approaching!"

The consequence of this Mormon take off is to create a cult. "Only we know the TRUTH!" This generates a lot of fear instead of love.

I disagree with the above and I cast out demons all the time. I also bind them to silence and impotence with no problem. Objective observers notice the difference.

There are ailments that can't be cast out because they are not demonic. I'm sure you have run across this by now.

Timuchin,

Even 11 year olds can cast out demons and has been done by such. It is Jesus's name to which they bow and when you sling it around at everything, you do have a chance at hitting something.

However, not knowing who a demon is and how they make you sick limits you considerably as an exorcist. IT is kind of like shooting in the dark, yes, doing such may cause you to hit something and walk away feeling pretty good about yourself, but it is not responsible at all.

Those who cast out demons who don't even know who they are and what they can do are a danger to us all.

As far as Wallen Yep goes, I think your slander of someone you know nothing about speaks loads of what spirit you are coming and speaking from. May God have mercy on you.

Charles and Francis Hunter's techniques are wonderful. I've learned a lot from them and use their techniques now more than ever. It changed my perspective of the authority that God gave us to heal and cast out devils.

Yes, deliverance and the ability to war in the spirit is a must for every Christian. And, it's exclusion from the body of Christ is the result of apostacy that has effectively neutralized the church against the devil. This is one of the reasons why the church has very little influence on society and our government. There is a war going on, and the church isn't even fighting. We brought a stick to a gun fight.

Amen to that! I started just praying for people and seeing plenty of healings, especially of cancer and arthritis. But I found I also had to use exorcism in some cases. I ended up doing more & more exorcism because no one else did it. Then demon-infulenced skeptics started scoffing about me chasing demons behind every bush!

I have new converts immediately delivering themselves from the demons they picked up from being involved in the occult or demonic religions. The limited power of attorney of God that we exercise can only influence demons.

Wait a minute, you said if we didn't understand demons your way we couldn't cast out demons. Now you say we can, but it would be dangerous for us to do so. You have changed your position.

My position is that demons have no authority in the world. God gave all authority over this world to Adam & Eve. They indirectly submitted to Satan by submitting to his lies. Satan now controls the world through the deceived children of Adam. The children of Adam give the demons their authority and send the demons out to do Satan's will. This is why evangelism is so important.

Due to this understanding, I have:
1. bound the empowerment given the demons by humans to make them vulnerable to easy deliverance.
2. carried the battle to Satan's humans, casting the demons out of their properties & environments.
3. bound the demons in Satan's humans to silence & impotence, to render the humans vulnerable to prayer for their salvation.
4. Ask God to speak truth to these humans about their condition and their need for salvation.

The above wisdom is very effective against demonic attack.

"Slander" is speaking lies about someone with malice of forethought. I only know what he has said on his website. Now if you will tell me that this website is a bogus misrepresentation of what he believes, I will apologize.

Until then, I think he watched too many movies about zombies.

Isn't it interesting that on occasions when I was confronted with a demon in a child or a mature person, I challenged it instantly, without using His Name, and that person was set free immediately. So it all comes down to authority. You can cast out and scream as much as you like and if there is no authority at the specific time, you may as well go a milk the cows.

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.
