Yes, it is our choice to believe in him or not, and to live by the sinful nature or not, or to worship another god or not.
That's not what I meant. Of course it is our choice. The question was, does Jesus approve of false religion? According to my bible NO. This was so important that it was mentioned twice..Gal 1:8-9 ! But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach anyother gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
The yeast was hypocricy amoung other things, not a "watered" down gospel.
I realize that there was and IS hypocrisy in the church. There is also a watered down gospel being preached also. I call it dining at the bible buffet..pick and choose what agrees with you personally. There is a lot of it even on here. Obama doesn't believe in a literal hell, so he believes in a watered down gospel.
Christ says that we are to preach the gospel, not try and force the law.
The reason your country is going down hill is because of the failings of the church and the lack of the Holy Spirit, perhaps due to a religious spirit? Self-righteousness? hypocricy? Lack of love?
Lack of God fearing leaders in government and complacent Christians who voted them in I would say.

I wouldn't tell them they weren't christians, but I would lead them to Christ and point out scriptures to them in love and kindness. Your judging does nothing but produce self-righteousness.

A Christian means someone who follows Christ. If you aren't following Christ, then you are following the Devil. I would scare them into the kingdom if I had to...Jude 1:23 ~ And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Some you have to get right down to the nitty gritty, and some don't need as much persuasion. It's all on how the Holy Spirit leads you to witness to someone.
He's also wise and intelligent and has extensive knowledge of American laws and history, ect amoung other things.

This is the President elect, and a mostly black/white man at that. This is America where black men aren't idolized. He isn't Elvis resurrected to warrent such adoration.
Not hardly, but good try. I have mixed folk in my own family, and tons of black friends. The REALITY is, racisim isn't dead in America, and the REALITY is that Obama in the NORMAL wouldn't be idolized this way.

Not hardly, but good try. I have mixed folk in my own family, and tons of black friends. The REALITY is, racisim isn't dead in America, and the REALITY is that Obama in the NORMAL wouldn't be idolized this way.
Apparently it is dead, or well on it's way among the majority considering he was elected President by a majority vote.
In my Grandparents' America, no, Obama would not be as widely respected as he is today. He would not have been given an opporotunity to run for any prestigious public office.
This is not my Grandparents' America, though. "In the normal" as you say.
What's happened is simple: times have changed. People have out grown their old perceptions. It's a product of the civil rights movement, and does not make our President-Elect an agent of the devil.

God didn't send His Son to pay for the forgiveness of your sin, and then decide He is going to require you to make installment payments. He only requires you to believe that the FULL PAYMENT was done, over 2000 yr. ago..........then you'll stop trying to make the installments on something you could never pay for anyway. He was elected by the majority of the black people and the young who have never voted before. If it wasn't for Bill Clintons "what they thought" was a racist remark, the blacks would have voted for Hillary. The blacks called Bill the black President. I am old enough to be your grandparent, and it hasn't changed at all from where I sit. The KKK is still alive in the south and burning black churches, and we even have them in parts of California. The Grand Dragon of the California chapter lives in Los Angeles.
