A Protestant Church. One where I am able to concentrate on and form a relationship with Christ.
After many years of trying within the RCC, I was unable to form any type of relationship with God. I was left with anxiety, fear and worst of all...empty.
thats exactly what happened to me! No one told me I could have spirtual life right away. Everything changed.

I think you are looking at the surface and the symptoms, rather than the cause.
I don't think going to a protestant church will really resolve any of the issues you have. My question for you is what is it about the Catholic Church that makes you think you'd be better off in a protestant church? You can PM as well.
Mmm, this topic sounds very familiar to me. I, too, have thought of leaving Catholicism behind. There's some things I heavily disagree upon where the Catholic Church is concerned -- stances on contraception and homosexuality, just to name a few -- and I don't always see eye to eye with a lot of the Catholics in my direct environment.
Still, I love the Church a lot. It's been one of the few constant presences in my life and I do feel like somehow I belong in Catholicism. My relationship with Christ is pretty strong (as it has always been) and the Sacraments I received only served to strengthen that bond between us. I don't want to turn my back on Catholicism, but sometimes it just feels like I'm the only one who feels that there's something fundamentally amiss in the current Roman Catholic Church. And, you know, I'd love to help change things... but as a young woman, there's just not so much I can do in that area.

A nice post! I tried hard to Know Jesus while I was in church, but finally left, and then met Him through a book!
Ironic, considering Jesus isn't in a book but is most certainly in the Eucharist.

I just have to ask: who's fault is that? I think if you answer honestly, you have to conclude that there is only one entity responsible for the state of your spiritual life. And that's true for all of us.

Or maybe they did tell and you just weren't listening. Or they just didn't speak it terms you could relate to. Just saying.

I believe it's possible to find Jesus through a book. In fact, books like the Chronicles of Narnia and that novel Anne Rice wrote about Jesus made me step closer towards him. Our spiritual lives always reflect a lot of searches and questions... and if we don't find our answers in one place, we might find them in the place we least expect because it is a new way of looking at things.

Of course you can encounter Jesus in a book and I'm glad that you are not so easily distracted by the comments above, just as you can encounter Jesus in every face you meet. I think we perceive a revelation in the life of Jesus and it can come to us in many ways including the Bible: when Jesus enters our lives, we betray or kill Him...but Jesus does not reject us. He refuses to stay dead and rises again. Through the Resurrection, the power of God is revealed and human evil overcome...not by force, but by love. The life of Christ can not be destroyed as He always returns promising new life.

I was Catholic for 17 years. Just got the book Idiots complete guide to understanding Catholicism from the library.
One thing, it mentions vatican II. Now i was baptised in 1958 and this seems to have happened during my time.
Can anyone explain it to me?
When I went last summer to a church and did confession (it was totally different from when I was younger) and received communion, the priest told me things had changed a lot. How?
