Just curious. I was wondering if those that did attend the Todd Bentley crusades could elaborate on the epileptic type movements. Did you experience it or know someone that did. Could you describe the experience and actions? What is it like? How does one recieve it? Is it controllable? Is there a benefit for it?
Thanks

I've never heard of that man. And his is only one opinion. I prefer to be Berean and check things out for myself. So here's my opinion, which shouldn't really matter too much since folks should be berean too.
Todd Bentley said the other evening "I am not being guided by a female angel. I am being directed by Jesus Christ."
I attended Lakeland meetings as did my husband. As did Riverpastor's wife. We went there in person to discern for ourselves.
Todd Bentley preached Jesus Christ is our savior and the only way to God.
He preached we must repent of our sins and accept Jesus in order to be saved.
He preached we are to take the love of Jesus out of the 'building' and get it to the streets. Pray for the hotel clerks, wash cars, mow lawns, pray for waitresses. Serve the city with the Love of Jesus.
He preached that the Lord loves to heal the sick.
He preached that demons are to be cast out.
He preached that sometimes people get into unrepented sin and need to repent from that in order to close open doors to satan.
He preached that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.
Todd Bentley has uprooted his family to move hundreds of miles away to stand in front of thousands and thousands for almost one hundred nights in a row and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation.
I chose to be Berean and investigate it for myself. And I, along with my husband and Riverpastor's wife, discerned, also using the word of God, the presence of the Lord and the word of the Lord being taught. We looked for fruit and we found it. We inspected the fruit and it was good. We investigated the words of those who know Todd personally. They testified of his mature walk and their respect for his integrity. So that's my opinion, for what it's worth. Be berean. Test his teaching against the word. Not what someone claims he said back when, or what someone thinks he believes. Turn on God tv or freshfire on the computer and test the word for yourself.
Matthew 7: 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them
I have been saying these same things on a forum where I have moderated, until the administrators banned me today. There is a vicious, vile spirit that has risen up against this fresh, powerful move of the Holy Spirit! Satan is at work now among those who have put God in a box. We must do warfare on their behalf. It is really sad we must do that, for it is the lost we need to be expending our energies on in fighting the good fight in bringing them to faith in Jesus--not our brethren!
When in battle, our brethren drop their shields, we have to fill in those gaps! It takes effort and strength from the troop when we have to do that in such large numbers.
I thank God for His Holy Spirit, who comes in like a flood and empowers us so strongly that it seems as though there is no enemy! Hallelujah!!

I saw a child shake while on the platform after the power of God hit her. I have never had that experience, but from what I can see the presence of God comes on a person so strong they "tremble".
Hope you get the feedback you're looking for, I know I wasn't of much help. I'm just telling what I saw and have seen many times.

CindyisHis,
Thanks for the input. Just trying to get the pulse on this unusual demonstration. Every bit of info will help put the pieces together.

You ask if it is controllable? For example, sometimes believers' cry when they're touched. Yahweh doesn't MAKE you cry yet you wouldn't be crying at that particular time unless you're experencing Yahweh.

In your opinion would that be a yes, no, or I'm not sure?
BTW who is Yahweh?

Not everything can be explained in life.
I like what tturt added. His presence does cause an emotional response, why not a physical? Can it be controlled? I think we can always shut off the things from God, why anyone would want to I'm not sure.
Yahweh is a name of God. The original Hebrew was YHWH, and the vowels were later added. It is His holy name.

Thanks. Good point about us not wanting to turn it off. I have seen a woman in a church I visited go into extreme convulsions in a pew. Her head went from side to side with such violence I thought her head would go flying off. Or at least suffer some neck damage. This seemed to happen sporadically without any initiation from anyone. And at the same time make these loud sounds as if in pain. This was done while the preacher was talking. It was difficult to hear or focus on what was being said from the pulpit. It was a distraction to me and the others around me.
I have also heard but not witnessed those that go into animal like trances and act out a dog, cat, lion, chicken, etc.
Do you believe the Holy Spirit would do this? I can't imagine what purpose it serves.
Peace

No, I don't think this is of God at all. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time , but the Spirit does not interrupt what the Spirit is doing. If the preacher is speaking, it is rude for someone to interrupt, and love is not rude - 1 Cor. 13. God is love. He is not rude. For this reason, I do not believe this is God. I think it is a demonic manifestation, and I don't know why someone in the church hasn't dealt with it. I'm not absolutely sure, not being there, but this is my thought from what you have described.

D. L. Moody said, "I’d rather be able to pray than be a great preacher; Jesus Christ never taught his disciples how to preach, but only how to pray."
