Question for Word of Faith regarding non-Word of Faith forum name
As the discussion of the change of the name of the non-Word of Faith forum, I brought up this suggestion.
Charismatic - Not Word of Faith
As it is a Charismatic forum, and it isn't affiliated with Word of Faith, it seemed the shortest and easiest solution. I know non-Word of Faith was seen as antagonistic to some, which is why the change is happening. I just wanted to hear from you guys. I know that some may still not like it because it is a separatation, but the fact is, this subforum is meant as a place for those who don't agree with Word of Faith teachings.

Assumption Theology - reading a verse or verses and then assuming what they mean, not based on what the verses are actually saying, but what you interpret them as meaning.

Not quite. When you die, your body dies. It is not "healed". It "dies". Your spirit lives on for eternity, but your body is not "ultimately healed". It is dead.

It's okay by me...........but why make them change it from non to not, don't they mean exactly the same thing? I mean those who DO have a problem with NON (and I'm assuming that's the reason for the change, maybe?) are going to have the same problem with NOT. Why not let them keep non if its just going to be changed to not? It's still describing a negative and not describing what they are.........
I mean they're NOT WOF but that does little to put for who they are...seems like saying, "I'm an American, NOT a Mexican." Problem is Mexico is PART of the Americas whether U.S. citizens like it or not..........so in order to say, "I'm an American, Not a Mexican," without totally offending people who are Mexicans, you would need to say I'm a U.S. citizen. That clearly communicates what you want to say without adding the negative to any certain group.
So if that's the purpose of the name change...then the NonWOF forum needs to fine their equivalent of, "I'm a U.S. citizen."
If you can't do that............then there really is no point in changing the name. Whatever for?

Long story, charityagape. Basically, the name has to change because too many people were offended by the non-Word of Faith name. That is why I started this thread asking if this one looked good to people.

Remove the WoF reference from the name.
People should identify themselves by what they are... not by what they are against.
Why not name Christians "Thestic - not Muslim, not Jewish, not Morman, not JW, etc etc."
The whole "non" or "not" concept is just, excuse me, silly.
If all you are going to do is change it to "not' then don't bother changing it at all.

I don't have a problem with it.. I hope that people will listen to some of the teaching Word of Faith preachers teach.. Tis wonderful!! Has helped me in my life no end!!
