Possessed by a demon

It all begins 2006 when I still wasn’t a Christian. I’ve just graduated from university, and everything looked fine on the outside. But in the inside I’ve always felt this heaviness; everything has been always very difficult. Smiling, laughing, showing your emotions etc. it’s like I’m carrying a bag full of rocks all the time. Then I decided I’m gonna go abroad and have the best time of my life and then kill myself. I sold all my belongings and went to Asia. 6 months I partied, did drugs, drank, and went to prostitutes etc. horrible things.

Then came the big decision to kill myself, I bought a lot of heroin and syringe. I said farewell to all my close ones in my mind and injected a lethal dose of heroin in my vein in the evening, but for my surprise I woke up the next morning. I felt terrible. After a week I tried again, but this time for some reason I prayed, "God if you exist please show me yourself, I don’t wanna die but I cannot continue living this way, please God show me yourself, please please!" After that prayer a strong force wave struck me, I flew 2 meters across the room to a wall, I started shaking, then I cried a long time with a strange sound, it was like a baby’s cry. After that, started the vomiting, I vomited 9 hours in a row, and I made horrible racket, so the hotel staff took me to the hospital. Then I was transferred back to my home country. I went to std-test; everything was negative, although I’d slept with over 100 women without protection.

I felt so alive and happy, for the first time of my life I could taste the air and see bright colors. Obviously I joined my local church, and was happy as a child in Christmas time. But something was still wrong, I could feel it, I just didn’t know what it was. Then something special happened. We were worshiping God in a smaller group, singing, dancing making noises, and suddenly everybody fell to the ground laughing their butts off, after a while I start screaming in a demonic way, twitching and throwing up again. Everybody tried to cast away the spirit, but didn’t succeed. Same thing happened again in different occasion. Quite a few pastors have also prayed for me as well.

Then for one reason or for another, I decided to have a drink. Well it became a habit, and I started smoking too. Little by little I was getting worse and worse, my energy level was terrible, I barely could speak to people, I only mumbled something. I prayed and prayed for help, but nothing helped. After a while my mind and thoughts were so poisoned, that I didn’t believe God anymore. I didn’t want to live anymore. In early 2007 I climbed to a 4-storey building’s balcony, and jumped down to the concrete, altitude was about 15 meters (50 feet). I was four days in coma. Since then I’ve been 8 months in a hospital, had nine operations and two hospital infections. I was in a terrible state, horrible pains and sufferings, everyday I wished for death. I was in a black hole, all my thoughts were negative, I dwelled in darkness and negativity. I hated Christianity, I didn’t want to hear a word about it. I did believe some sort of God but not Christian God.

Three months ago I got out of the hospital, feeling empty of course. I remembered how good I felt when I worshiped God or listened Christian music. Then I found my old Hillsong cd. I started listening and immediately I felt this energy flowing through me, and I cried and cried and cried. Tears just streamed automatically. I felt like I entered back home. Since then I’ve been listening Hillsong and others 24/7(even nights), and purifying my thoughts. I have to say, I’ve never been this happy, I’m all scarred, alone, exhausted, empty handed, but ALIVE!!!! Hallelujah!!

Till this day I vomit daily, and battle against spiritual attacks. The more I praise, laugh and dance, the more the devil is showing himself. I know bible says an evil spirit and the Holy Spirit cannot live in a same body in the same time, but I think my case proves otherwise. What do you think about this story and what advice can you give me. I’ve never took part in any sort of occultism or anything like that, but I’ve heard that I could have inherit the spirit from my ancestors.

It sounds like you've been to hell and back.
You do believe in Jesus and you are one of His sheep because you recognize His voice and you also know there are demons, because you know and love Jesus and His teachings, and you've also witnessed the demonic.

There are definetely demons out there. 9 years ago, I dabbled into the occult, by playing with a ouija board which caused a lot of bad things to happen all of a sudden. The scariest thing I did was become someone I wasn't. I was angry and I could hear satan talking to me. He had a voice like deep and demonic also robotic. He'd tell me the future which came true, and push me away from people I loved. I'd see demonic faces come up from the ground and on the walls out of shadows or the rays from the sun setting. People can call me crazy, but this did not happen until I played with the ouija board, nope not any of it at all. The scariest lie they told me was "we're you're friend". That way, you know, if they are friends, more than likely the victim wont want to cast them out. But you see I was like 11 turning 12 and had no idea what christianity was about. I only knew Jesus lived on the earth as God and died on the cross and went to heaven. I knew satan existed but didn't understand his purpose, in fact, a lot of people always told me he didn't exist, probably to let me not fear him which is not the correct way.

So one night, I wasn't feeling good, and when I don't feel good, I would ALWAYS tell my mom, cause I was a momma's girl. But, nope, instead I went to bed, turned on my radio, played it in a slow deep tone (kind of like the demons voice) and laughed the whole time the song was playing. The song was kid rock's "i can smell a pig from a mile away". The reason why I am telling you that specific song is because I believe it had meaning....."i can smell a pig from a mile away.....(remember how Jesus cast out demons and they asked if they could go into pigs?)" well I didn't know that at the time, with little knowledge of the Bible, so when I look back on it, it's kinda freaky seeing how real that is. And to finish this little story about not feeling well, when I was listening to my music, the demons told me, if i wanna feel better, drink coke and spit it out, that will slowly get rid of the sickness. Well, my dad came in the room and said, "you don't look to good, can I take your temp." and all i could do is laugh with the demons, and I acted mean towards my dad and said "no, im fine go away!!!" well he took my temperature, and it was 105. my dad was like "hannah, don't you know you can be put in the hospital at that temp?" i said no, and realized how these demons are more demonic than people realize. they are NOT you're friend.

They'd taught me how to automatic write, which I didn't even know existed. I'd throw the pen/pencil down and just do it with my hand. You see, people that practice this, know it's bad but do it anyway..while on the other hand, I'm just listening because they are creatures who tell me new things and are suppose to be my "friend". pssh. If you remember, I didn't know about any of this. Well, one day I was doing this privately, when my dad walked into the room and imediately noticed what I was doing. I was kind of baffled because it was suppose to be a secret only me and the (friends) demons knew. It's because It's a real thing that people do and don't realize it's from hell and satan. So yea, i'd tell my BEST friend about what she had for breakfast, lunch and dinner and she'd laugh cause I guessed RIGHT!!!

A lot more things happened if you want to ask me. Long story short, I did NOT accept those demons as friends when I actually knew they were demons. They just kept telling me we are from "heaven". but now I know the truth. They will make you do crazy things subconsiously because they are sneaky, snakey, creepy, evil beings. and I'd advise you to see a catholic priest or maybe a united methodist pastor. either way, i think they'd both be good. but it's definetely the devil and I just hope Jesus Christ will always be you're Lord and Saviour. Call out to Him when in need and declare His SHED BLOOD over your body and in your soul and spirit. Yes, the devil should definetely jump then~ good luck. God Bless.

Really? You heard them talking? That's scary.. For me they manifest themselves physically i.e. by clinching my teeth, jiggling my tongue, contracting my muscles etc. Mentally or by feelings they manifest themselves by making me aroused, making me sad, un-energetic or angry; they're just waiting me to catch the bait and start thinking wrong things, but with Jesus I'm stronger than them.

Seems to me that there's many different kind of demons, some stronger some weaker and they all act differently. But they definitely aren't your friends. I liked your story EternalMoment. It shows that I'm not the only one with this kind of problem. God bless to you too!

Luther believed that baptism is a sort of exorcism

Have you done a study on what baptism does? It's God's work in us as He uses the water as a means to effect His will upon us and gives us by His Word (through the water) the benefits of the cross where our sins were forgiven! In baptism, we are covered in Christ's righteousness, our sins are washed away, we receive the forgiveness won at the cross and the gift of the Holy Spirit!

I agree with LilLamb, Christ says that being baptized is a cleansing of our spirit and that God gives us a new heart body and soul when we are brought up out of the water. It is symbolic of Christs revival from the grave. What many people dont realize is we are in a spiritual war between heaven and hell. You've already been shown the hellish side and the fact that you have a connection to that realm can be used as an advantage. Turn it around on them demons, use your spiritual connection for Christ! Be a spiritual warrior for him! When i'm attacked by it, which is alot, i mentally picture my holy spirit inside all gung ho and battle ready, with an awesome sword that i stab and kill and obliterate the demons and demonic suggestions! I use Christ as my sheild and his word as the sword...I do some serious killing of demonic spirits in Christs name! I will definately pray for you and i suggest getting baptized and read Gods word more and just submerge yourself in Christs life! brother!

For some reason or another, not everyone experiences demonic possession or demonic attacks. There doesn't seem to be any particular reason why they happen to some over others, they just do.

First and foremost, while I'm not normally a skeptic , have you seen a psychologist? I ask because if you contact a mainstream Catholic/Eastern Orthodox/Anglican (Episcopal) Priest or Pastor, that's the first question they will ask you. All exorcists have to rule out some form of mental illness before they are allowed to begin an official exorcism.

If you go with a more Charismatic approach (Pentecostals,etc) they will likely just pray over you without any further thought. While they seem to have had some good success in exorcising, the Catholics and similiar churches seem to have had the most success over the centuries.

Going with the first option, likely you will be put on some form of anti-depressants, and/or mind altering medications. This does not mean that you are "crazy" but it may indicate an imbalance of some kind and may in fact be the problem. I suggest you do this before anything else, just in case.

If over time these therapies do not work, the Priest gets permission from his Ordinary (Bishop) to perform an exorcism. Note that an exorcism is not a one time shot. It's done over a period of days, or weeks, months or even years in some cases.

Finally, I also believe that the Sacraments may prove of some use for you. Baptism and the Eucharist are the ones that I think will help the most. But these are useless without daily prayer. Perhaps it would be a good idea to do a spiritual retreat in a monastery?

Yes it's all in the mind, a big mental game. I've tried to mentally visualize images where Jesus hugs me, I'm dancing joyfully or I'm a child playing on plain with animals etc. But I cannot hold the image together for long, I can't concentrate + something is interfering my thoughts by adding ugly images, such as genitals etc. And the more I get these interferings, the more I start thinking of them, fearing them, and adding them myself. It's hard to visualize pure images. When they are not intact, they are working against you. It's really disturbing! I should have your ability to visualize images! Thank you for your prayers Sis! I really appreciate it.
