fav aussie foods

what kind of aussie food would you recommend to someoen who came from overseas.

Roast lamb (or beef), baked potatoes, at least 5 veges of different colours (mint sauce for lamb), and gravy.

For pudding...plum pudding, custard and cream.

lol, definately Pavlova, with, a topping of grated chocalate, and creme de menthe (mint cream)...Meat Pie, with tomato sauce in it....and as good old barbie...hey we've almost mgot pour own national cuisine...lol, has anyoine ever heard of an australian Restuarant?

The sundried SANGER! Definitely the Aussie way is the BBQ. Some caesar salad sounds like a nice compliment... maybe also some baked potatoes? Pavlova for dessert?

PS. I was thinking witchettygrubs but I'm glad to say I have no experience with how those things taste!

And yes Shark, I do think especially for lunch or a snack, I think the meat pie and sausage roll still hold their lofty place of privilege.

OK. Traditional Huh? You got it.

First we have the setting with plenty of little black flies, ants and a few mozzies tossed in. They have to wear hats with corks.

Then we starve them for a few days.
Then we feed then damper, bully beef and a cup of billy tea. (don't forget to have half a match floating in the water as it boils...not the striker end)
That's it....no more...
After being starved they'll Praise The Lord forever for a good feed after eating that!
