It is time that we request that the Liberal Catholic Forum is moved to the Faith Groups forum. While there are veterans who know why we were placed in WWMC in the first place, we must ask to be on at least an equal footing as the "Charismatic Catholics" who have a position already in Faith Groups!! No one was informed here of a decision to make Charismatic Catholics a Faith Group but it gives precedence to Progressive Catholic values and fellowship for change!!
I will be be recruiting your guidance here but it remains that WWMC has been entirely gracious for letting us be here and accommodating us despite the ad hoc measures to place us here!! Bless you WWMC!!!
I will be taking much consultation along with Jason as we ascend to new awareness and much needed fellowship in OUR OWN FAITH GROUP!!

I see no reason to allow Charismatic Catholics to have a Faith Group status that would not also apply to Liberal Catholic or Traditionalist Catholics.

Liberal Catholics doesn't get that much traffic. If it's moved to the Faith groups, you'll get what happened about 2 weeks after this subforum started; spiteful people came in to gloat about how dead the forum was.

On the other hand, it might get greater exposure. And the spiteful people will be dealt with in no uncertain way....unlike the inception of a new group.

I'd hope that it'd find its core of Catholics who have trouble with doctrine, or are in general left of middle, but I'm a bona fide pessimist, so...
That said, I was also against the creation of this sub-forum, thinking that the Catholic forum should be made to be accommodating to all Catholics.
Best of luck.

Dear Loki: I do not find your submission that there is a "one size fits all" Catholic forum that exists here. One need only look to the "Charismatic Catholics" who somehow enjoy their own forum. Yet they surprisingly think they are "not separate from OBOB" (quote from the forum originator). But why are they separate??
We have a greater inkling why LC is separate by history and content.
Loki: I don't have to bathe you in statistics on how American Catholics diverge from Rome. I will excitingly, but it is not the point. LC exists to talk about the 600 Gorilla in the room, #1, and why it IS this way. #2, it is meant to organize thoughts around reform of the Catholic Church, something not acceptable in OBOB.

Preaching to the choir, man. My original hope was that OBOB would be a place where the questioning and struggling would co-exist with the not-questioning and struggling. It should be that, as I don't know of any parish that runs people out if they express doubts; most priests are much more amicable and understanding than many Catholics on this board.
