Good grief! Several times in as many days. I am getting the uncomfortable feeling that this is due to us not having our Faith icons--so everyone seems to think that this is one big board where debating is expected. Well it isn't expected at OBOB. I know I came here from a debating board. I was looking for a nice "safe place", thought I had found it, and don't even go into GT because of the hostility there. Bring back our Faith icons so people who like to debate will be seen for who they are! Right now they seem to be "flying under the radar".

Well, no doubt, if you take it personally don't read those threads or perhaps no reading any threads in OBOB is the right choice for you...
To the OP-perhaps people find what Jesus felt irrelevant to their faith. By people I guess I mean me. If imagining and adding emotinal content to Scritpure is useful for you--more power to you--but just remember that they are your imaginings and may or may not hold the truth of the matter.

The way we do our individual scripture reading, and how in the way we try to absorb what God is telling us is very personal. And, if this is your way of learning and understanding what the scripture is saying to you, I say more power to you.
My suggestion: Be sure you read and study Church interpretation. It is not enough for us to read God's word. It is also important to read the words from those who are much more learned than us.
