THERE IS A PROBLEM,... WHEN PEOPLE QUOTE WHAT OTHERS HAVE POSTED ON A ASSUMPTION BASIS.
Quoting a person and addressing the quote is typically considered the way to make sure and to demonstrate you are not working from assumptions, but from what he said.
Whilst your habit of continually accusing me and others broadly without backing those claims up is actually the problem.
You can watch the message get messed up twisted, bent out of context and form.

No, quoting is the best way of showing which statement you are responding to.
If you think I have distorted your message and removed a relevant context, you can easily show what it is that I left out. Interestingly you don´t do that, but instead you add reproach to reproach without any substantiation whatsoever.
Quoting a assumption misses the mark of truth everytime, Seems like the more things are quoted the greater percentage there is for errors to generate.
These errors can easily be traced. Whilst not quoting someone and making accusations out of thin air doesn´t even allow for a discussion.
Can't you put your 3 cents in, with out the need for quoting others all the time, you must assume everyone hear is stupid and can not figure it for themselves.
Well, I can do that, but I won´t. It´s not because I think people are stupid, but because it´s hard to figure out which and whose statement you are addressing on a message board. I find it helpful when people quote me so that I know which part of my post they are responding to, and I find it helpful with posts of others, too.
This way has proven useful and helpful on discussion boards, so you better get used to it. You are expected to clarify whom you are talking to and what in his post you are talking about. Broad rants based on mere mindreading are not the way discussions work.

Yes, I think it does everyone a favour. Sometimes there are dozens or hundreds of (partly very long) posts, and not knowing what a particular statement responds to is not a matter of stupidity, but a systemic problem. Hence quoting has become the generally accepted way to solve this problem.
Usually people complain if you don´t quote the post you respond to.
This reminds me of the commerical about Bobby and his Oreo cookies, at the school lunchroom, How the story gets changed evertime it is passed from one person to the next. at the end the young boy has the message all messed up and wrong.
Your vivid power of imagination and the creativity of your association chains are certainly admirable, but in this case completely besides the point. Quoting is differnt from Chinese Whisper in several essential ways.Firstly, the exact statement as it reads there is identically copied, secondly it is not passed on several times, but only quoted once.
Try just posting your Ideas, not Quoting Another members Ideas, Get some spark in you life, Quite being a copy cat......Mrghost.....
If I want to address the ideas of others and post my ideas about it, quoting them is the best way to go.

I agree, it's easier to follow a conversation on a thread if people quote one another. Especially if people quote just the sections of a post they are responding to.
