I've seen the eagle in somebody's character, so I know it's still around but I don't know exactly where it is right off the top of my head. If you had an uber-expensive limited edition item, talk to Raven about it. She didn't want to put those out while everything was free.

To get rid of it make sure your crop box is under your item preview "I hope this won't confuse you" Here is a screen shot from my living avatar area on the forum I run...
Now click on "Remove Item" and that should remove the crop.
Did something right but crop box is still there, cant get rid of it. One item I am looking for is my eagle, the sword of David,, dont even remember now all of it. I really liked my character the way it was. WEill the ultra expensive stuff come back as am saving to buy the items if available.
If you select the crop box you should be able to hit 'remove item' and it will go away.
All items are free or 1 blessing right now.
If you had some of the expensive items that are not included in the current inventory, contact someone on staff and they will help you get those items back.

It's a bit fiddly sometimes if you don't get right on the corner. It may be better if you first remove the background , resize the crop box, then re-add the background again

That worked It also helped that I was ACTUALLY pushing the Shift button this time instead of the Ctrl button
