Daily Prayer

When we become children of God, it is important to talk to God in prayer everyday. Some of the key things to include are:

1. Thanksgiving (thanking God for whom He is, answered prayers, etc.);

2. Praying for others; and

3. Your own requests.

Can you think of other areas that need to be included? When is it the best time for you to spend time in prayer? Mine is usually in the morning before I do anything else.

I also pray that His will be done.
I usually spend the most time in prayer at night as I reflect on the day's events.

Faith in Christ is not belief without proof, it is trust without reservation.
I have found no greater joy, than to live totally surrendered to Jesus Christ.

All great contributions!

What a great idea to say the "Lord's Prayer" again, Stogus! Thanks for the reminder.

Any more ideas? This is good.

Didymus will become famous soon enough
what about confessing the sins you have committed that day. They are already forgiven but I think saying you are sorry you did them shows god you appreciate His forgiveness
How abbooout silence and letting God talk to you. We seem to be more concerned about what we want to say to Him then to listening to what he wants to say to us.

That's a really good point. Prayer should be not just us talking to God but listening to Him.

Excellent points, Didymus and Mandy!

We need God to cleanse us from our sins each day so we can continue to be humble learners of His Word as we grow to know Him better. And we need to quiet ourselves so we are in a position to listen to Him.

One of my favorite verses which speaks clearly to me:

Be still, and know the I am God; . . .

Ps. 46:10a
