I live in Lakeland and went to the revival once. My mother went four times and still wasn't sure about it, and I accompanied her - and my father - on the last trip. I found it wasn't for me.
I do like how some people get their Christianity uplifted through movement. My mother feels like a backslider now and got saved again and it made her bring out her bible. I do not remember the bible being out for years. She is thinking of trying a church she has talked to people at her work about. She says she felt inspired when people came to eat after attending the revival because of where they came from (other countries) and how big on God they were. It has also encouraged me to find an online forum to ask a question about the revival - I found this one and now have a home here. I am also now looking for a church after hanging out here for a time. So - even if you do not get something from the revival by itself, there are good side effects with fellow believers.
As to my "anger" story, I've been having issues with friends lately. My best friend of 14 years is married to a man whose father is a pastor; both his folks are very religious and rather judgmental in my mind. They are big on speaking in tongues and the revival. When I told Melissa my experience I was careful to say I did not wish to state against someone else's beliefs, but just said it was not for me, as who am I to judge what is good for other people?
When she told this to her husband as a general conversation, he got very angry at me. I don't know why? I wasn't putting the revival down but he started acting like I was when she never said that. He started saying how wrong of me it was. ??? He was raised in the church but does not attend church anymore and lies to his parents to get out of going to the revival, although not because of disbelief, but because of disinterest in Christianity gatherings. She said because of his reaction she doesn't feel comfortable discussing me and religion together around him anymore. I found the reaction surprising and unwarranted myself.
If anything, there will be some good that comes out of these things, and some bad - which we will all hopefully learn from and then turn toward the good.

PM Me With Any Prayer Requests!
"You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever." - Psalm 30:10-12
Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.
For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three.
Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
I use to think this was just for the Jews that were siding with Jesus being the messiah, but now I wonder.
Sure fits the church I just lost along with my pastor of five years, but you have to understand he was for Todd Bentley and the Florida revival. He even shows recored videos to the chruch members before church offically starts.
Read your post Fantasy ... glad your mom is getting back to the bible. The bible is where it's at ... When I had to work for a living I didn't always have time for the bible, but now that I am retired I read it everyday and comprehend it too ... that way the Holy Spirit can remind you of what you have read.

Do any of you think it would be a good idea to post this prophecy on the main board, in case anyone has relatives in San Francisco, or even lives there themselves?
I know it wouldn't be popular.

Redding is mentioned in the prophecy, in a good way...isn't that where Bill Johnson's church is?

Second, practice your religion without adulterating it or toning it down. Third, emphasize love and make it your working force, for love is central in Christianity. Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.”
