Well, I used to love going to Church, a real Church. I mean Church is not a Church unless it features the architecture which glorify the religious setting. But that's just an opinion. Of course, a Church is a place of worship, which means Churches can also be simple and practical. I used to attend a magnificent Church with great architecture many years ago. Simply the atmosphere generated by the medieval style architecture was wonderful. But now I only sometime attend a much more basic Church with all the practical conveniences of modern life but none of the glorious architecture that gives a Church that special feeling.
Although I am an agnostic, I have been going along to Methodist services and found them to be quite helpful. I was wondering whether anyone here goes to a Unitarian Universalist Church, or knows anything about them, as I am considering going along to one of their services.
I go to a church where every1 is baptised as a believer and where all have received the Holy Spirit, we know when that happens, God causes all to speak in tongues.
Our meetings are according to 1 Corinthians 14:-
spiritual songs
tesimony by someone of what God has done for them
talk from the bible
hymn & communion (sunday meetings only)
2 or 3 gifts of tongues, each with interpretation
2 or 3 prophecies
prayer line (gifts of healing and faith)
closing song/notices
tea
. . . ."all things done decently and in order", "the spirit of the
prophets are subject to the prophets", God does not "take people over"
I have not yet found a church with which I am comfortable. My daughter is an Anglican Priest and is pretty good, so I have no problem attending her church when I am visiting her.
I'm pretty regular at a Quaker Meeting in Manchester, but I registered as an Anglican because I also go to an Anglican church when I'm visiting my mother, and sometimes I go to the local Affirming Catholicism church down the road. I feel like I'm sitting between two stools, it's not entirely comfortable, but I get the feeling it's where God wants me. I love the silent meditation of Quakers, but I miss the eucharist, which to me is a really intimate form of worship.
I tend to avoid churches where they sing choruses; I'd rather have good hymns and psalms. And incense, and candles, and icons. And silence that is real silence that the vicar doesn't talk over in an attempt to explain why we're having the silence.... (this has happened to me in a certain South Manchester Evangelical Anglican church several times...)

I commit acts of terrorism on churches that are too ornate and then witness to the survivors.
Catholic... and I am in a great parish. It is a wonderful community
