Not at all! as an adult I really enjoy watching The Simpsons but as a child I wasn't allowed to watch it. I would imagine it would be the same for Family Guy plus I don't even like that show, yes it can be funny but they go too far there.

I'm not a parent, but I'm a substitute teacher and Family Guy fan.
Holy bloody HELL NO!
I'm starting to think that shows like the Simpson's, even while they have something good and worthwhile to say, have a hand in the blatant disrespect I get at school--the way they model horrible disrespect and make it normal.

I grew up watching "The Simpsons" and when I have kids, they'll grow up watching it, too. I'd be positively heartbroken if they weren't fans of the show. I plan on making them watch "South Park" when they're in their teens because again, I'd be heartbroken if they weren't fans.
I'm not all that familiar with "Family Guy" and "King of the Hill."

King of the Hill is from the makers of Beavis and Butthead. Its quite different to Beavis and Butthead though. I would compare it to the Simpsons but its slightly more mature humour. Its probably the least offensive out of all the cartoons. I don't think young children would understand the humour in it though.

And Family Guy is built mostly on an evil genius baby and a sophisticated but alcoholic dog, and the mostly stupid rest of his family. A lot of people find the humor really offensive, and they do push the line a lot. Usually you need to think for a second about who is actually the butt of the joke to realize that it's not quite as offensive as it seems.

When I was young I probably caught glimpses of The Simpsons when it was on and didn't understand it, but as a concerned parent I defiantly would not let my child watch the show at that young an age. If we had to watch it together I would wait until he/she is old enough so I can help him/her to know the things that are right or wrong about the show. In fact, The Simpsons is probably the only adult cartoon I would feel okay with due to having morality behind it, because I really think Family Guy is far more offensive to God than The Simpsons are.
I was probably more careless in watching whatever I wanted as a kid, so if I ever get married I'd want to raise my own children better.
When my kids were younger I was a TV nazi. I didn't want them watching tv and for a few years I banned tv during the school week. Now they are 12, 9 and 6 and they aren't tv junkies at all.
My 12 yo has seen some Family Guy episodes because my dh is a HUGE fan. She watched a few that he previewed and said they were milder than normal.(one where Peter sings Bird is the Word a lot) My son saw some Family Guy episodes when he used dh's computer and got on HULU. My son's name is Peter...so it grabbed his attention. They all love Simpsons including the Simpson's Movie. BTW, I have a 19 yo cat named Bart...after you know who. It amazes me that the show has been on that long. I watched it as a teen and now my daughter is a preteen watching it.
To answer the OP...no...at 3 I was so protective over access to the TV that I wouldn't have allowed adult shows like that.
