For those of you in an LDR
For those of you in a Long Distance Relationship, I'd like to hear your responses to all of these questions:
1. How did you meet?
2. How long have you KNOWN each other?
3. How long have you been in a relationship?
4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship?
5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use?
6. How far away do you live from each other?
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long?
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other?
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?

6) 2,100 miles. I'm in California, he's in Wisconsin
7) We haven't gotten the opportunity to meet yet, it may not happen until next summer or this December
8) N/A
9) Not being able to hug/kiss/cuddle. Also not being able to do things together and go places.
10) Of course, I love him to death

What is literal about poetry is that God did it, and because God created, the creation has meaning. When we insist, as some do, that the creation account be turned into a science of the origins of the world, we lose the heart and soul of the poetic message and turn a liberating imaginative poem into a dry intellectual fact that must be affirmed scientifically. This deadens truth."

1. How did you meet? Another forum
2. How long have you KNOWN each other? 3.5 years
3. How long have you been in a relationship? about 2.5 years.
4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship? All of it
5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use? Every day, AIM or phone
6. How far away do you live from each other? 600 miles. 2 hour plane ride, I believe.
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long? About every three months, for a week. Give or take a few days.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other? Hug and kiss at the airport...that's all really. We aren't apart very much when we're together together, and we try to go out several times since we don't normally get dates.
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple? I'm really lonely. Depressed. Pretty sure the long distance has a lot to do with it.
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be? This is gonna sound horrible, but I don't know if I would. I think we'd have been almost better off staying friends until we were able to do something to be together. I'm just really sad all the time. I don't think I'd be depressed if we hadn't started this.
1. How did you meet?
Here on CF. 2. How long have you KNOWN each other?
About eight months. 3. How long have you been in a relationship?
We never really had the "Are we official?" talk, so I guess that's pretty ambiguous. 4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship?
The entire time. 5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other?
Every day. It's usually AIM these days, but sometimes phone. 6. How far away do you live from each other?
He's stationed 2000 miles away but currently deployed 6000 miles away. 7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long?
We got to see each other for a few weeks over Christmas, and I'll see him again in September. 8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other?
Nothing out of the ordinary. 9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
There have been times when our communication was very limited, which left me feeling pretty alone in the world. It's kind of hard to revert back to that single state of mind where you don't have anyone to share with or feel accountable to. 10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Definitely. As much as it hurts to be far away from him, he's been a real blessing to me. I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else.

1. How did you meet? Online. We were both on a message board (that I was an admin on).. so we knew each other from there, but it wasn't until years later that we talked personally.
2. How long have you KNOWN each other? Hm. I figure it was about 5, maybe 6 years ago he got on the message board.. but it's been about 2 and three quarter years since we first really talked.
3. How long have you been in a relationship? Going on two years. (It was not quite a year since we started talking when we became a couple.)
4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship? The entire time.
5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use? Every day. Though we do IM as well as letters now and then, there's only been one day (outside of when we were together) that we haven't talked on the phone (and that was when he had a very sore throat.)
6. How far away do you live from each other? About 1500 miles, Google maps says.
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long? Not very often. Three times so far. But it's never been for shorter than a week.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other? Not really, not that I can think of.
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple? Um. The most difficult things either I or we have faced as a couple had precious little to do with it being long distance.
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be? Yes. but going in, I did know it was going to be this way, at least for a while (think, years.) I knew that and I was ok with it.
2. How long have you KNOWN each other? Well we've technically known each other awhile since he was always posting in the same sections as me when he joined but its been roughly 2 years since we started talking privately and building a friendship off the site.
3. How long have you been in a relationship? it'll be two years in just under 4 months.
4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship? The entire time.
5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use? pretty much everyday and we use IM
6. How far away do you live from each other? I'm on one side of the continent here in Canada and he's on the other in the States.
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long? every 2-4 months, though next time it'll be closer to 6 months probably. We usually try to visit for at least a week.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other? hmm... well our new thing seems to be cracking out the House DVDs and watching every single episode we can
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple? distance.
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Thats a tough question I love him so much and love having him in my life but i really never realised just how hard an LDR could be, especially when its gone on for so long, i might have been tempted (had i known) to hold off until we were living closer to eachother to start dating. but then again being with one guy so long in a relationship that hadn't been defined probably never would have worked out, so i think it really worked out for the best

1. How did you meet? We met on CF actually. 2. How long have you KNOWN each other?
About eight months now give or take. 3. How long have you been in a relationship?
I don't know we were in a relationship for sometime before we officially decided we were. 4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship?
Since the beginning 5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use?
Pretty nearly every day, I have 20 minute morale calls and we use AIM alot. 6. How far away do you live from each other?
It depends on where I am. 7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long?
We saw each other for about 3 weeks in December, it should be about another 1.5 or so weeks in September, maybe in November, and then 3 weeks in December. 8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other?
Not particularly, it's just too wonderful to be together to be bogged down in routines. 9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
Being apart. 10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Yes.
