What should I do?

I have a best friend that is Jahovah's Witness, my mom is telling me to not be her friend because she is not one of us. But I think that God wants us to spread his love to everyone...especially to those who aren't Christian and don't know God. That is what I learned on a mission trip that I went to in Idaho. I don't know what to do, I've asked God about it, it just must be cause I can't interpret His signs. Will someone help me?
