I talked with D earlier. Here is something I thought of but was waiting for someone to bring it up....
I think we are going to assign a female "trainer" to each of the male "trainers" as well. If you are a female and uncomfortable reporting your weight to a man, you can talk to the female trainer. The only thing she will inform the male of is the pounds lost or gained, not your actual weight.
For example. Sue is on my team but is not comfortable telling her weight to a man. So, I have a training partner, Mary, and sue tells her the weight for the weigh-in reports. Mary simply tells me, "Sue has lost 4 pounds this week." Or "Sue has gained 2 pounds."
I don't want to alienate anyone for comfort reasons. I think accountability is a huge issue and I want you to be able to report weight to whomever you choose.
Coach
Sounds much better to me. Who are your female trainers going to be? |

Thus, I will try and eat more healthily because I know that even though it doesn't show on the outside, my internal organs are probably crying right now. I won't post weigh-ins tho...since I definitely don't want to lose or gain weight. But I want to play too...I'll probably lose negatively by gaining or something. lol. |

Reps: 36,250,134,608,843,920 (power: 36,250,134,608,855) | | | Well, we are still kicking ideas around on finalizing this...
I have been PMing with a couple of folks. A new idea has been thrown out and I would like input....
The new idea is guys vs girls! That way the girls would not have to worry about having to talk with the guys about weight. They could help encourage each other. I would find a couple of females to captain the girls team and go from there.
I would be like the "host" as well as co-captaining the gentlemen with Spicy. So, I would still be there to provide tips, answer questions, etc... for both teams. I am not going to leave out the ladies just because I am coaching up the boys.
Also, we want to have weekly challenges to help us meet goals. Here is an example of what that could look like:
Week 1: Exercise 3 times this week for 20 minutes. It needs to be something to elevate the heart rate
Week 2. Exercise 3 times for 25 minutes. No regular soda!!! Coffee limited to 10oz per day! Caffeine raises blood pressure and we need to avoid that.
Week 3: Exercise and no soda rules/coffee limits stay this same. This week's challenge is to create a vegetable side dish that tastes good and is healthy, then share the recipe with the rest of us
And so on and so on.
Thoughts?

I don't really like the idea of gals vs guys. The reason why is because it seems like EVERYthing gets turned into that kind of competition, and I'm worried about the division it seems to cause. That's just my opinion, though, and if everyone else wants to do it that way, I'll fall in line.
I do *love* the idea of the challenges! That would be great - but....can't we start with walking? LOL. Working out 3 times a week seems kinda like impossible to me right at this point. Again, if it can't be walking, I'll try to fall in line with whatever the challenge is.
PS I heard that you should only eat if/when your stomach tells you it's hungry (hunger pains) - I'm guessing this isn't true since people are suggesting 5 meals a day?

Exercising 3 times a week means to exercise at your level of fitness while pushing yourself just a bit...
So if that means walking for you then that's great!!! Just getting your body moving and your heart rate up is the point...and you want to push yourself just a bit as well...so if you walk around the block 4 times in 25 minutes then the next time try to walk around the block 5 times in 25 minutes...or whatever...but you get the idea | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
