Scripture interprets scripture.
I can't take one verse that sounds the way I think it sounds, and read other verses that contradict what I thought and yet hold to my original idea.
It means I need to find another meaning that fits the context accordingly.
This is the problem I find. I have a real hard time buying into the conspiracy theories of UR's that the bible was tampered with and altered by pagans, while holding to ALL the scriptures they hold so dear to their theological position.
As if everything except their view was corrupted.
How convenient (even the majority of theologians don't accept that.
I don't buy that theory, either. |

it is good news. the woman didn't stop looking till she found the coin. the shepherd didn't stop looking till he found the sheep. the father never stopped waiting till the son came home. God is a relentless pursuer. He will not stop till EVERY last of His creation is in the fold with HIM. Jesus came to ensure that the Father will claim ALL that is rightly HIS which is every last soul. That's what He wants and that's what He wills.

Case closed? When Jesus said He didn't come to bring peace, but a sword, and that family members would be pitted against each other, what do you suppose He was referring to? And notice that it was a generational conflict, with the younger against the older, not older against older, or younger against younger.

It's the man made gospel of exclusion, for those who like the idea of billions burning in unspeakable agony for all eternity!
Well I've got news for you.
God made sure the bible was worded in such away so the truth would be hidden from them and they could interpret how they want.
