What exactly do people think they need to add to the work of Jesus?
What has God left undone?
What has He not given us?
The biggest issue is that many Christians do not see Jesus as the will of God made manifest. They think the will of God is still up in the air and subject for individuals.

When people base their Christian walk in their carnal nature and their religious virtue, they conclude they can do nothing.
When someone comes along and bases their Christian walk in the redemptive work of Christ and has complete confidence in that, then the people who think Christianity is based on what you do can *only* hear that you are saying that you expect to receive because you think you are doing everything right.
I look at it this way: A comedy group in the 60's had a hit album and they called it " We are ALL Bozo's on this bus!"
I still think they said it pretty well.

I was just told here in CF not 10 minutes ago that every one of my posts are arrogant.
They don't see that we have confidence in Jesus Christ, that He's our Dad and we are His royal children, and that we are to receive what He is offering to us! We choose to walk as the redeemed, as priests and heirs to all things that Jesus has. They prefer to consider themselves as less than how God sees us!
They don't know the difference in pride and boldness. It's a big difference
People who are very confident can sometimes be thought to be arrogant and unloving. That speaks more to the one perceiving than the one projecting, but I never want to cause others to stumble myself.
As you all know I have only recently taken on this icon for myself as I have come to understand that what is written in scripture is indeed true. We have a choice.
It isnt about me. It is all about Jesus. Baptists like to say "Jesus said it, I believe it, and that settles it".
I find this no different!

There is a sneaky mindset out there, from the devil, that "truth" is only true if we give it permission to be true. As if truth needs our help.
Example:
God made Jesus to be Lord and Christ. It is a done deal. Nothing in the universe or eternity can change this.
Yet every day we hear people say things like "let Jesus be Lord of your life" or "make Jesus Lord of your life."
This is just evidence of two things.
1. People have a elevated estimation of the power of their own "will."
2. God did not mean it.
