I should also add that its the fact that we call those things that be not as though they were, speaking the end from the beginning, talking the answer and not the problem, that makes them say we are trying to force God to do something.
They see arrogance in our belief that there are specific answers to the promises of God and that we can have a confident expectation of an answer if we stand in faith as the scriptures encourage us to do.
The other thing they choke on is the whole principal of spiritual dominion. They don't see believers as being able to assert themeselves and prophesy to things, or circumstances based on our dominion and the clear known will of God. They will only accept that God will move as we ask Him to (which is also true) but not that we would walk and talk and act like Jesus did on the earth. Of course, the disciples did, but that too is beside the point for them.
I was just told here in CF not 10 minutes ago that every one of my posts are arrogant.
They don't see that we have confidence in Jesus Christ, that He's our Dad and we are His royal children, and that we are to receive what He is offering to us! We choose to walk as the redeemed, as priests and heirs to all things that Jesus has. They prefer to consider themselves as less than how God sees us!
Its funny, but when you believe God and expect that He is going to keep His promises, some folks get the crazy idea that you are ordering God around by speaking in agreement with Him. Sometimes they'll answer, "Well, you know, God's sovereign." As if His sovereignty means that we can't necessarily expect Him to honor His Word.

I count myself blessed in a way because when I was a new Christian I did not go to a church at first. I simply read and read and read my bible. I believed those words I read everyday. I took them at face value, I believed it all, I believed what was written and trusted God. I say I was blessed because I didn't go to a church that would of taught me otherwise, like so many do, sad to say.

goes to show you that bad theology, goes against the Word of God.

I was just talking with my roommate about this last night. I told her I couldn't get into any more debates with non-wof members because I wanted to tell them to stop calling my God a liar.
Promises are made in the bible and since God is not a man that he can lie, I choose to believe everything he says We don't command God to heal us (or any other promise), we choose to take God at his word.

When David stood before Eliab, Eliab told him that he was arrogant because David said that he could conquer Goliath.
When people base their Christian walk in their carnal nature and their religious virtue, they conclude they can do nothing.
When someone comes along and bases their Christian walk in the redemptive work of Christ and has complete confidence in that, then the people who think Christianity is based on what you do can *only* hear that you are saying that you expect to receive because you think you are doing everything right.

I was thinking this the other day. I was unsaved until the age of 24 and immediately got into a Word church! Thank God! I did not grow up with any bad teachings and I didn't enter the kingdom into them either.
Ever wondered why God had His Son grow up in Egypt away from the religious dogma of those who thought they knew God.
Blessings,
Benjamin
