Split Rock, you asked me to back my allegation up from the Bible, and I have done so.
You have done nothing of the kind. I mentioned Egypt and Babylon in reference to where the writers of Genesis got some of their ideas. You replied with a link which addressed some other question about the Flood, just because you mentioned Egypt and Babylon in it.

The Bible shows Egypt and Babylon coming well after the Flood, not before it. Thus It pwns your earlier remark; and you can deny it all you want, it won't change anything.
Baloney --- I quoted Scripture to back up my claim --- something I've yet to see you do, "brother."
You quote scripture like it was a dart board.

But the writers of Genesis did not live before the Flood. Did they? Then why do you reject the conclusion that they got ideas for Genesis from Egypt and Babylon?

Stop saying "pwn". You remind me of those kooky pastors that try to talk like teenagers in order to win them over and convert them.
You're not fooling anyone (at least not me) amd are making yourself look very juvenile.

Rock, this is neither the time nor the place to bring this up. I said the Bible pwns the idea of Egypt and Babylon existing before the Flood; and in this case, it doesn't matter who wrote It. You asked me to show Scripture to back up my claim, and I did. It's time for you to drop it --- you're only making yourself look worse.
AV, you are suggesting that everything we know about the history of Mesopotamia and Egypt is simply wrong? We have a full rich history of these cultures going back to long before your supposed global flood, with no break whatsoever. So, there are three possibilities you are presenting for our non-Christians hearers:
1. The flood story must be read as a literal global flood 4,000 years ago, and it is true, meaning all the historical evidence we have for these ongoing cultures is just wrong.
2. The flood story must be read as a literal global flood 4,000 years ago, but the evidence for these ongoing cultures is overwhelming, so the Bible must be false.
I would propose a MUCH more likely alternative:
The flood story need not be read as a literal global flood, and so the vast amount of historical evidence can be entirely true AND the Scripture is not falsified.

The writers of the NT took the story as literal, and so do I. And I'll ask you what I asked Consol: where is the water canopy then, if the Flood story didn't occur?
