And I talked to a pastor a few months ago and he said that there was one thing the government could do that would cripple the church. The government could start charging property tax on church property...

So what do you think it'll sound like?
A trumpet or a shout?
I go with shout!
Many say trumpet.
hmmm...

*ponders* I wonder if the sound will be even more resourcefully to the def compared to those of us who have hearing, and probably take it for granted. I don't think it would matter which sound it may be, but that is is a glorious sound, indeed.

Both, will descend with a shout and if you look at the Jewishness the shofar is a very important part of the feast of trumpetsd which is an interesting feast in light of the fact that there were two days set aside to declare it, it started when the priest saw the moon rising and no man knew the day or hour. All the spring feasts were fulfilled, only the fall ones are left unfullfilled

1 Thes 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Look closely.
Could be both... or all three
Though I know some never caught onto the shout part.

I know the Rapture will happen in the Lord's perfect timing...but it can not be soon enough for me.

I used to study End Time Prophesy quite a bit and followed how current events are bringing us closer to the End Times...but it started to become so unsettling that I stopped. (I haven't even been able to watch the news for years....it's just so heartbreaking)

Not unsettling for me personally...but for all of those who are walking through this world without the peace and comfort and redemption of Jesus Christ...and who will be left behind.

There are going to be many deceived, sweet, generous and kind people who simply do not know Jesus Christ (or that think they do) that are going to find themselves on the wrong side of the Rapture...

...and it breaks my heart.

This is one of the reasons I get so downhearted when I see people bashing the Church left and right...

Do they not understand who they may be misleading to some pretty harsh consequences?

Scripture tells us...and please pardon the paraphrase here...that if it were possible even the elect would be deceived...

I know I'm so thankful for the Holy Spirit of Truth...because sometimes...I read stuff on here and I think...well...maybe I do have it wrong...maybe I'm not as saved as I think I am.

Maybe I do need to maintain my salvation and perhaps I'm not doing the best job of it.

Wow...praise God the Holy Spirit...The Comforter who leads us into all truth!

Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Well yes, it is a world that embraces every heartache.
Makes for good ratings.
I don't watch TV news, but I usually research what is going on, all in good measure and balance, including actual international news reports. Usually I get news briefings, then research topics of interest. TV news is all fantasy, anyway; it's about the video shot and the grunge etc... not the actual story, and the worst stories get continuous replay time.
They embrace heartache.

Last night, several of us were discussing the possibility that the US church may be driven underground before the Rapture. I've mixed feelings about that. As Faith_Warrior said, I don't believe the church is appointed for wrath. By the same token, you would be very hard pressed to convince the Micronesian church of that right now.

I hesitate to say this, because I know it will cause an outcry, but since this is a "safe house" I'll say it. I believe the current political climate lends itself to potential for heavy persecution of US Christians. I think there's a good possibility Obama will be the next president. He is extremely liberal (some say "socialist" but I hate to toss labels around like that) and despite claims to being a Christian and rumors he is a closet Muslim, I think it is most likely he is a secular humanist. He represents an extremist electorate that will demand an end to things we take for granted, such as worship, prayer and missions work, because those things show our lack of "tolerance" for other's beliefs. We will object of course, and protest, which will lead to us being identified as "subversive." Due to how "dangerous" we are as a people, he many use his influence and his "people power" to get legislation passed that will negate a good many of our constitutional rights in the name of "tolerance" as defined by post-modernism, not the traditional definition.

This may only be a couple or three years off, friends. Perhaps we should be preparing to organize our "underground church" right now?
I have the same feelings about Obama as you do. But I will not go underground, but rather stand boldly in the face of adversity and persecution. I may be killed or jailed for this, but just as the apostles did, I will boldly stand on Gods word and the beautiful gospel of Jesus Christ.

God bless you all.

those who need to hear it, probablyu will ACTUALLY HEAR it. i have a friend who is deaf, and i, together with some others, am starting a monthly bible study/ spiritual discussion... and my friend is going to be part of this, so this means i will need to relearn my sign language, but it also means i have to trust God to let this friend understand what's going on...... anyway, back on topic....lol i have no problem saying that i think the deaf will even hear it... they may not know whats going on, but i think they'll be able to hear it...

i've stopped claiming alliegence to this country.... because i don't beleive it is going to be around much longer, instead i would sooner claim alliegence with God, because he is forever.... he created forever... i believe i'm not gonna miss out.... i wouldn't openly say that i want to stay and help more people, but i must admit, that there is a strong will to stay.... but i'd much rather be with Christ, than get stuck on the other side of the fence... ya know?
