Is anyone reading The Purpose Driven Life?

I bought a copy about a week ago, but haven't cracked it open yet. I'd love to find someone to read along with me (you're supposed to read it over 40 days) and discuss it with.

Definitely read with study partner. It has been a great instrument in the refocusing of my faith.

I just finished reading it in August - it was an incredible book. It changed my walk with God so much. You'll be soo blessed by it - good luck in the 40 day challenge! I encourage you to keep a journal on each day, that really helped me.

See if you can find a Bible study going through it, or one that would be interested in going through it.

My Bible study is currently in our final week of reading it. I have to say, those who are reading it on their own kept up better than those reading it together with their spouse. I am thinking of reading it on my own again sometime, as with all the coordinating it took to get my husband and I to read it together, I may not have gotten as much out of it as I would have liked.

discipleofWORD will become famous soon enough
A big tree... yes indeed. Haha. It has been appearing everywhere. It's like 30% off at Barnes and Nobles(the one I know is...)...

I read it before... but I made a mistake. Even though I read one chapter a day(sadly, i got lazy and put it off), I just read it...and thought about it without writing it down! So I'm starting on this again...

Well, if you're going to read alone, it's not that bad(would be helpful if it's possible to find a buddy to pair up with). Just one advice, if u're reading alone or not, WRITE WHAT YOU LEARN!!! You can't really hold everything in your head what you learn. Get a notebook and write something like(this is an example):

Day 1
Point to Ponder:
Verse to Remember:
Question to Consider:
Your Response(to the question):
Comment:

Basically... "Your Response" and "Comment" doesn't appear in Purpose Driven Life. But this is what I do. I write those down: the point, the verse, and the response. Then I write a response to the question(rather than answering it without writing it down). THen the comment is basically your "prayer log". You just write down about your day, your worries, your dreams, etc.

I hope this will help you in anyway! Remember, JUST reading the Purpose Driven Life like a book is a big mistake. I didn't really get any "blessings" as I should.

Tresora is on a distinguished road
I just started the book today. My cousin is reading it too although she is on day 3 but we will still be able to get feedback from each other. I am doing exactly what discipleofWord said about writing everything down in a different notebook dedicated to the book.
