Faith vs. medicine

If we have faith - the faith of a mustard seed, powerful enough to move mountains... do we need doctors and medicine?

I believe that God has given to us doctors (he gives men/women the wisdom to become them) and medicine.

I believe in faith healing and had it happen to me many times. But that does not mean that i have never been to the doctor. Late September of this year I was very sick and in the hospital for a solid week. Boy, was I sick. I praise God for the doctors who helped me get well!

"You'll be disappointed," he answered. "I don't think you want to see it." But I insisted, and he proceeded to show me floor after floor of beautiful gifts, all wrapped and ready to be sent.

"Gabriel, what are all of these?"

He said, I thought rather sadly, "We wrapped all these things, but people never called for them."

There are gifts and an abundance of blessings to be received from heaven -- but we need to claim them as our own! We receive not because we've asked not.

When we ask the Lord in humility and expectation for His goodness, He will answer! Then we'll be better equipped to do the great things He has in store for us.

God uses both avenues!!

I believe that God can work through medicine to heal. but it's always important to have faith and to pray for healing!

A lady I knew recounted how she went to the hospital for surgery and perionitis (sp?) set in. Her doctor came in and told her that he was praying for her. Her thought was that she must be pretty bad off (she felt bad enough!) if he was praying for her. That nite a nurse came in to her room. Big smile and said "We have lots of work to do tonite!" With that she opened the windows (my first hint something weird was going on) and proceeded to do homeotherapy (hot and cold packs of water). Ab't 5 am it "broke" and while she took a shower the nurse cleaned up the bed. The second weird thing is that no nurse claimed the pay for the nite.

Doctors and medicine are part of life !

Howerver, sometimes we as humans' beings (those among us doctors) do make a lot mistakes/errors in judgment. Resulting from improving condition to worsening. (That actually happend to a friend of mine)

So I would say, that God's healing is perfect and has no set backs. He's work is spiritual, and "yes" not only has he the ability to heal your spirit. He brings Angels as we hear from that story "djconklin" mentioned down to earth, to provide also the physical healing for those who have faith in him. In all his power is unlimited
