Faith vs. medicine

Once in a while you'll hear about a family who won't take their sick kid to the hospital, because they believe God will heal them. I think these people should be charged with homicide if the kid dies. Even if the kid lives, reckless endangerment.

If faith healing works, why doesn't he heal serious gun shot wounds without any help from doctors?

I believe in healing by God for sure but at the same time I think that God heals through medicine. I will take both medicine and Gods help above all. So I voted not sure.

I could not chose any of the given responses - I believe and trust G-d, and I believe G-d has given wisdom and knowledge to man, i.e. doctors and medicine. He has also given us wisdom and the responsibility to learn what we can about our magnificant bodies, how they work and how to keep them healthy.

As in all other areas of our lives we all too often reap what we sow.....

Anointing was a rubbing of oil for both religious and medical reasons. The Bible says to do both.

My pastor always says, "If you're out of gas, don't pray, go to the gas station."

For minor illness I have learned how to take care of it using alternative medicines, but more serious things I do see a doctor. Seeing God gives knowledge think about the level of knowledge that medical doctors and researchers need to do their jobs, I do not think it was simply by chance that someone one day figured all of this out on his or her own. Over the years God has imparted knowledge to these people so that His children can be taken care of on earth, If you think hard enough about this the miracle of modern medicine is just that a Miracle one that God has slowly revealed and allowed to be implemented. Granted man takes things a little too far at times but the initial knowledge had to have been God Given.

doctors and medicane are a part of life but faith heals allso i would say you need abit of both

I agree! It is also through faith and prayer that answers come to illness that drs arent sure how to handle.

GOD INVENTED MEDICINE & DOCTORS

Amen to that. Once and a while I get opinionated medical doctors who tell me that alternative medicine is false hopes or baseless. I said well if that is so , then how come even modern medicines are in many cases herbal based? herbs grown from the ground, they are created by God. In the bible they didnt have prozac or other drugs manufactured to heal or relieve symptoms, they used herbs and what was of the earth to bring about healing or comfort. So then why is alternative medicine a false hope?.
