Luke was a doctor but he was not one of the disciples
Aren't we all in a way Jesus disciples? Read Matthew 28:19-20 we are all disciples of Christ whatever we do.

Of course Dr Kimble, however I was responding to the statement that Luke was one of the 12 disciples. It's also worthy to note that while Luke was a doctor we see him writing about the miracles of Jesus not how he, Luke performed doctoring duties.
My doctor is a Christian and while she doctors me in the human rehlm she is just as quick to lay hands on me and pray.

You are right, because that is not the purpose of the Bible, the purpose is to show God's great love for us and how and why he gave His son Jesus. If the Bible had details about doctors we would not get the message God planned for us to get. Which is to serve God in whatever you do. We need not all be preachers, but we MUST be ready to take up our cross and serve, follow, and teach about God. Doctors heal physical wounds, God heals our spirit. Jesus himself was in a way a doctor, he helped the sick. Isn't that what doctors do? But Jesus had one major difference, he healed and restored the spirit and faith of the sick. If Jesus wants the sick healed, then so it will be! God can use his power and love through anyone no matter what their job is.

I'm reminded of my last visit with my Doctor. I was getting a regular check up and I complained to her about what appeared to be a mole on my back that itched. She looked at it and had some name for it but said it was nothing to be concerned about it was just something that comes with getting older.
Then I had her look at a small growth at the hairline of my right temple. I said, how about this thing? It itches a lot and when I comb my hair the comb is always catching on it. She replied that it was the same thing. I then told her that I had been laying my hand over it for several weeks and was cursing in the name Jesus and telling it that it had no right to be there and commanding it in the name of Jesus to dry up and die. She smiled and said, "Well, keep cursing it". I did, and when I just reached up to feel it. . .it's gone.

So I believe Drs and medicine are a resource that GOD gives to us to help take care of our bodies. Our bodies are a temple unto Him and so God is going to give us means to take care and maintain our temples.
