Reps: 155,696,005,911,999,168 (power: 155,696,005,912,020) | | | Once again, the Calvinists attack the people who believe the Word of God.
Why? The bottom line is that Calvinism denies the love of God and the dignity of humanity. They consider God hates some people and loves some people and only died for the people He loves. That is not love. They consider God forces people to repent and follow Him - but God treats people with the dignity to choose life or death. He recommends choose life, but will always allow people to choose death.
Because of denying these two key elements of Biblical Christianity, they come to the conclusion that everything that happens is God's will. If someone is sick, they don't know how to receive healing so they assume that the sickness is God's will. If someone is poor, then that is God's will.
They say what they see and see what they say. Saying what they desire and seeing what they see change is beyond them.
I am in the middle of an email discussion with a Calvinist and two things are apparent:
1) they fail entirely to deal with Scripture. Notice our poster above "John Piper is a wonderful man of God". Does that mean we shouldn't subject what he says to Scripture? I think Andrew Wommack and Kenneth Hagin are wonderful men of God (I think I am a wonderful man of God to be honest) but I wouldn't fail to analyse what they said in the light of the Scripture.
2) they have a philosophy of yielding to the circumstances of life
The Bible says to resist the devil, Calvinism says to yield to the devil. That alone shows the inspiration of this entire system of theology.
Troy, thanks for such a powerful and clear post on this. I may transfer it to my blog.
Blessings,
Benjamin

We have lost a few people recently because essentially they weren't WoF people and we were not going to compromise. Have seen some wonderful miracles and we are going to have a healing crusade in August of this year.
Our website and blog give most of the information: www.treeoflifechurch.org.uk and treeoflifelondon.wordpress.com.
Please add some comments to my blog, it generates well over 100 visits per day, but very few comments!
Blessings,
Benjamin

In the past year or so I have become very aware of how much teaching there is like this in the church. Did Jesus not say that He came to give us life in abundance? To attribute works of the devil as to being blessings from God is a very twisted view of God's love for us.

| | | | I would like to ask John Piper how much he makes as a rich and famous person, and then I wonder if people knew how much he makes, if they would still listen to his arguments against prosperity.
It kind of muddies the waters when you become prosperous preaching against prosperity. |
